So... I had a deal for a s13 shell... It was a straight trade for my BMW 525i... Then, the kid's like... 500 bucks towards the purchase of an old 87 Chevy Dump truck of mine and my 98 Dodge Ram pick-up that's missing and won't fire on most cylinders...

And, I'm like... Uh........... No?

Now he's claiming I'm trying to screw him... And "what not"...

He's trying to get THREE RUNNING vehicles for a hatchback s13 shell...

So, I said the hell with it...

THEN, I find this orange s14 on NICO... I tell the guy the price I want to pay, and he's like.. "Sounds good"

So, I'm stoked now...

BUUUUTTT--- He texts me and says... I found someone who's offering more money...

So, while not wanting it without the original deal, I backed out of that deal as well...

Finally... While browsing around for a shell... I decided to look on AutoTrader... And there she was...

Now... She may be automatic, but not for long... She's white, just like my first s14... And she's soooo clean...

This time... I wasn't messing around... I put a deposit on it sealing the deal for 1750. They wanted 2500... I didn't think I did to bad... Could have done much better but, hey.. It's a s14...

Here's a pic of it... I'll be picking it up this week

Looks like you got a nice deal finally. How many miles on it and is it running? Good luck and have fun, I know I would.

170k on the car... And it runs and drives wonderfully...

It will never be anything like a daily driver... haha...

It'll be garaged in the winter and what not... Except the drive home... >.<

I'm picking it up in York... From Hanover Toyota or something?

Why did you buy this, I work at Hanover Toyota and was going to use my emyployee discount on it!!!!

Kidding, but I really do work there, and if you got them down to 1750, that's an awesome buy. I haven't personally seen it, since I work at the main dealership though.

When do you plan on picking it up?

How close are you to Ambridge or Aliquippa?

I plan to pick it up sometime this week... And I didn't think 1750 was to bad... I was going to try 1500... But, 1750 is pretty decent...

And I'm not sure how for those places are from me... Aliquippa I think is about an hour away... ? Maybe?

But, anyways... Thanks for all the compliments I will take extra special care of her...

And I promise, I won't be like the caretaker at the rest home in "Happy Gilmore"... I won't yell at her and treat her like s***... She'll live a pampered life...

There's no rust, either...

This deal fell through as well... I gave them a downpayment, and THEY backed out of the deal...

I guess because of the economy and the FACT that Toyota has posted their first losses in decades but, still, Hanover Toyota should have honored my deposit regardless of whatever offer they had received.

Better Business Bureau, here I come. -_-

There's always 2 or 3 rust-free S-chassis shells for sale here in Phoenix...

I need to start posting them up on NICO for people... (like I have nothing else to do )

Well, they tried to keep a hundred dollars of my deposit... >.<

And tried giving me a hard time about everything..

The main reason I didn't pick it up sooner is because of the weather has been ridiculous recently...

But, anyways... I hope my refund comes through very, very soon.. I'm ready to buy a clean s14 if anyone's got one

So, did someone else buy it out from under you, or did they decide to back out of the deal? That is some major bs too if they don't give you a full refund.

I don't know why this came across my mind, but it has me thinking about the 40 year old virgin. Except in my head it is our goal to get you in an S14. Being out in single digit temps really messed with my head.

Sounds like pure BS. Why the hell didn't they go through with the deal? Were they annoyed that you took so long to pick it up/pay for it or they just realized they weren't happy with the deal or something like that?

Your luck is awful, man. Hope you find a clean S14 soon and actually get a deal to go through.

It is JUST LIKE 40 year old virgin minus the sex.... hahaha...

I think they became annoyed with me not being able to come get the car... They saw me as "some kid" and they didn't "have time" to deal with me...

Whenever my refund posts, I'll be reviewing them exceedingly poorly on all the dealer review sites I can find.

They thought that I "wasn't serious". Well, when you put 500 bucks down on a car that you've never even seen before, I'd say that's rather serious. And, 500 dollars is much more than ten percent.

I've looked them up on Manta.com. They're a relatively large operation... Bringing in an estimated 20.5 million dollars a year in gross income and employing nearly 45 people.

A business with those kinds of credentials usually would be very easy going and want a smooth transaction but, apparently not these guys.

My salesman was a man named Iman (I think)

He sounded somewhat foreign and he was obscenely cocky about Hanover's "Inventory".

"I do not have time to waste on a small sale like this" he stated once or twice.

I think if they don't want terrible, terrible reviews and a listing in their local paper about their customer service, they should allow me to purchase the vehicle for $1,000.00 USD.

Harman850T5, you should make a suggestion that they do it. Hahaaha...

I'm starting to type the story up now that I want in their local paper, the Better Business Bureau, DealerRater.com, Edmunds.com, cardealercheck.com, dealershipratings.com, mydealerreport.com, dealerdex.com, yellowpages.com, NADA, Toyota themselves, and some other various places where I can tell my story.

Make the suggestion...

I should call down there tomorrow, and ask why they backed out of my "cousin's" deal and see what they say. If you still want it, I'd call the LFL in Hanover and ask for Ian or Josh.

That Iman guy tried to screw me over on a Silverado last year when he worked at the Hanover LFL, and Ian is one of my favorite salesmen. To bad my favorite one quit or I'd tell you to call him.

If you do want to still get it, I can call him up tomorrow and tell him whats up, and then see what happens from there. If you go that route it would probably get stored in the stone lot at Toyota until you got it.

They tried to screw around with me at the York location with a Mustang until they found out I was an employee.

500 dollars, or 1 dollar payment, thats a contract. did you do any paperwork stating how long this will be held for? my gf bought her 98 legacy gt for 5k and had it held for nearly a month for 100 down, with paperwork (great screwing car btw). if you dont have paperwork or documents stating they will hold it for x amount of time, you are wasting your time, unfortunatly. having owned both s chassis, maybe you will be happier with an s13? personally i prefer them, but to each there own. anyway, good luck with your search, i understand 100% how annoying it is finding a 240. keep your head up

btw, zerothread?id=307495

that was me 5 days off from a year ago. since then ive purchased a 95 base 240, and a 92 se coupe.

I would really love a nice, beautiful white coupe though... They're sooooo fugggin nice...
