and coming from someone who loves the heat, that's saying a lot....
Friday the high is going to be 118-120*
Saturday 117*
Sunday 114*
Monday 112*
Tuesday 110*

After tomorrow, the low will not drop below 90*. :ohno:

So, I'm looking for creative ideas to keep everyone from going bat-s*** insane via cabin fever. Any ideas? There are several movies I want to see but realistically, we can't watch movies for 5 days straight. We'll go swimming at midnight which will be fun but I'm looking for other ideas for the daylight hours. I'm honestly thinking about getting a jigsaw puzzle but I figured the kids would think I'm weird. :couch

So please, give me some suggestions. Also, give me your top ten favorite movies of all time. I'm going to take all the ones that we like, put the names on sheets of paper and draw them out of hat to make our list

Steal lots of ice from fountain drink dispensers and hope the power grids dont melt.

I'd kill for that. Today our high was 89. Yesterday the high was 61. 120 would be magnificent.

Top movies:
Blade Runner
Alien
12 Monkeys
Looper
Sling Blade

I can't think of five more right now.

If it hits 118* it will be. Of course it could always be worse. It's forecasted to be 129* in Death Valley. F that.

God you're sick.

I think last year it hit 115, which was bad. I work on cars... outside.

I've seen your yard. You could mow it with a pair of kiddy scissors.

The weather here in RI today was kinda overcast and cool/breezy at about 75. Back in MS I think the thermometer just read "ignorant".

:spitout:

Memphis gets in the 90s, but its not dry heat so it kind of sucks hard. Maryland isn't that bad though.

Movies (in no particular order):

- Iron Man
- Cars (1 and 2 were both awesome)
- Looper
- End of Watch (there is A LOT of bad language and dying in this movie, but its a great movie IMO.)
- Fast and the Furious (go hard and do a marathon)
- Tron
- The Avengers (you can rent it on iTunes I think)
- The Transporter
- Holes

Also, get lots of Legos and Model Kits.

Wow, you guys get some impressive temps. We're in the low-mid 90's in Philly but with acres o'humidity and severe thunderstorms every afternoon/evening.

Some movie choices. My feeling is if you're stuck inside, make it funny:

Airplane!
Blazing Saddles
Animal House
Revenge of the Nerds I
The Naked Gun

Do an entire day for Star Wars. Dress up in sheets and whatnot.

Maybe Rocky Horror Picture Show as well, throwing toast and rice and toilet paper. Then make everyone clean it up.

I will be in the garage Sunday trying to get this last split ring off the upper ball joint of my new (1986) Dana 30 front axle so I can rebuild/regear it and swap it into my 1965 CJ-5

After 2 weeks of PB blaster and a 10lb hand sledge its time for the torch. I have created a device to collect my sweat (snuggie) and will be mailing it to Jesda on Monday

Yes to both

Chandler Mall at lunch the heat soak of the parking lot makes the tar gooey... I do believe it was really this hot once I left the parking lot it dropped down to the 115-118 range but it was a dry heat so ya know.

The worst part is that that crap will be billowing over us in due time, in 95% humidity, with 0% chance of rain, and NO WIND AT ALL!

I have never seen the DC area with less than 30% humidity in the summer. It's always hot and sticky throughout July and August. We're just getting it early this year...

So, I worked in the garage all day.

118 degrees outside, 82 in my garage. +1 for that big-arse LG window AC unit. :)

I had to brave 85 degree and partly cloudy conditions at the Merchantville (NJ) car show yesterday. It was especially difficult as there was a nice breeze blowing, the spot where the group with whom I parked was shady, plus it was smack between the food court area and bathrooms. with the bathrooms down wind! Yep, the sacrifices I make for the car hobby in the northeast.

Bex.. you and Greg need to come visit my family in WI this winter when one of those lovely cold fronts pushes in behind another cold front and the temps get UP to a balmy -10 during the day and -20 at night and wind chills readings that just sound made up.
