given the opportunity, i'd take an itr over any s-chassis any day of the week.AZ89two4Tsx wrote:
That's a really stupid statement Rich.
I purchased my 1993 240SX Hatchback when I was 16. Paid for it myself, sold it and purchased my now 1995 240SX, and pay for that as well. Was there some kind of point you were trying to prove?tunerinms wrote:Ya thats why i fixed all the problems and kick my friends a** with the celica. U can suck on my balls archer because i worked for all of my s***. I went from buying an $800 dollar eclipse so selling my s14 for $3500. Never added money to the pot just flipped cars. What did you do when you were 17?
I had a Celica as my first car, too... That's why I weighed in on this. I hated when guys told me to just get a Supra. If you want a Toyota, there are plenty of other perfomance models you can get besides a Supra. Like a 2nd or 3rd gen MR, a Lexus SC/IS/GS, Alltrac Celica, and some ppl forget all about the 3rd gen Supra....JustDriftMore wrote:because thats all you can do to a celica tell him to get a supra haha

My Civic driving buddy proceeds to say, "Sorry man, but if I was gonna spend $17k on a new car, I'd just get one of the new Civic SI's..."
I was like "You'd take a Civic SI over a similarly priced Impreza STI?!"
He said; "What can I say? I'm a Honda guy."
My girlfriend (now ex) heard the conversation and goes "Isn't that Subaru turbo and all wheel drive?"
I say "Yep."
Her: "He's stupid."

Well i dont really understand the question but i think i can help. Rev matching isnt about making that perfect number, its not like you have to perfectly match the speeds of the wheels and engine in terms of numbers. Its about getting it as closely as possible and with heel-n-toe'ing.... its about doing it while braking. Heel and toe isnt necesary for amatuer drifting, its not necessary for gettin the car sideways either. Basically when heel-and-toe'ing youre braking with your right foot clutching with left and using the side of your right foot or heel to tap the gas. Decelerating the car on the brake.. with less speed requires lower gear, but since the car is now going slower (out of the powerband) than that higher gear you were in if you shift down a gear the trans will be going at a faster rate of speed when engaged than b4 and since you have clutched in the engine rpms also drop. So as to not lock the tires up, you heel and toe. Meaning you bring the engine rpms up while still braking (basically you have to know your car and know wat rpms the engine is in at a given wheel speed to know how hard to tap the gas) by shifting your heel or the side of your foot to tap the gas. while doing that u clutch in, downshift and then realase the clutch once the rpms are up and are in the range they would be with the speed of the car. It sounds complicated, its not easy to do, but with practice makes perfect. I hope that helped cause i confused myself and had to reword this a bit.tunerinms wrote:I've read a lot of about "rev-matching" I'm sorry if this comes as an extremely noobie question, but I'm trying to do more research before I start trying to drift around. What exactly is rev-matching, in terms of heel-toe shifting. I understand it matches the revs of the engine with the speed of the wheels, but how do you know when this occurs? Is there a magic number of RPM I should be aware of or something.
Thanks guys.
ya u know a whole lot about performance and driving....
