Basically, with my pending move to Omaha, I decided I needed a winter beater. And now that I've gotten more into motorcycling, modifying cars seems to never pay off, so I've decided to give the 4x4 world a try.

Nice! I love that body style. The 4x4 world is a fun one. I had a lifted k5 and had a blast.

I was looking into Cherokees when I stumbled across Land Cruisers. I realized I always wanted one, ate pasta and tunafish for a month, and acquired one. I plan on decking it out for a more "expedition" oriented mission, as I enjoy that more than mudding or crawling.

I am quite literally in pain trying to read that. Did someone accidentally set your keyboard to Dvorak and you didn't notice?

Seeing as my current HOA has already complained about it, I'm not sure it'll be allowed at the mall when I make a Cheesecake Factory run.

Yeah, as do I. But it's 5 minutes from work, a rental, and I'm leaving Tuesday... PS, f***, I'm not mowing the lawn before I leave!

You should blast through everyone's lawns as a final goodbye. Be sure to leave tire marks near the entrance of the HOA. :P

What's there to complain about? It's just another vehicle. Not being able to park in your garage maybe?

Moving to Omaha? When are you here and what area? I am in Omaha for this summer staying with my mother. I am just west of 680 and south of center.

I'll be in Bellevue, and I'll be there starting the 17th for the next 10 or so years, probably.

Given that it's you, I absolutely hate to admit this, but I really really like those. Aside from the LR Defender and the 2-door 80's G-wagen, this is my favorite SUV/truck/thing of all time. I think it's absolutely timeless and they're stone-cold reliable and can take incredible punishment.

162k. It's not as clean as it looks, cosmetically. However, there is not a drop of rust on the frame. That's why I bought it!

Well friend, you can't have terrible taste ALL the time! I like the FJ60 front end a little better, and a swap is possible, but kinda pricey. There's a lot more go (Isuzu diesel swap, for one thing) in it's future before that kind of show.

needs a mild suspension lift, some fender trimming,35's,knuckle gussets, rcv shafts front and rear, and a 4bt and it'll be on of the most reliable things on the planet.

I guess you missed the "build for expedition" goal... the 4bt would be a good idea anyway, except it generally requires a spring over axle conversion to fit, which puts it too high. the 2"ish lift is has now is just about right.

Nice buy, enjoy it!

But it only serves to remind me that I need to get my Dad to take his '75 FJ40 out of the garage... or at least sell it to me so I can take it out of the garage for him.
