I managed to break my hand in multiple places the other day.Funny, because I just started on my 240 project. Now all I can do is look at it for a while. Oh, and the $150 hard to find motorcycle gloves that I've been looking for for 6 months came in the day after. Sometimes life can be such a smartass.:D

Long story, but it involved a good friend, some liquer, a beloved man that died 2 years ago, a couple girls, and a lot of emotion. It was a pretty wierd night. I did however let my friend know that, next time I was hitting him and not something else to keep from hitting him. I'm not proud of it, it makes me feel pretty stupid when I think about it.:fight

So you punched something and broke your hand? Man that sucks. I had a friend do that. The gloves thing is just a slap in the face though. Wierd how that stuff works out.

yeah one time my friend slapped me in the face (literally) and i was so pissed (this was in highschool) that i punched the lockers full force and fractured my hand in 2 places. I still feel it when it gets cold.

then about 3 months later i woke up in a cold sweat and punched through my window and cut my hand up. Pretty crappy...

I was changing my oil pan gasket about 2 months ago, with the car up on jackstands. I forgot to thread nuts back onto the stut tower studs after taking off my strut bar...the whole tire/strut/etc fell, and missed my sandaled foot by about an inch, but I was so pissed off that it fell (hours into the job), I kicked the alloy wheel and messed up my foot. I limped for a month, and it still hurts now.

Ouch

I did something similar when I was 15, but my concussion was so bad that I had short term blindness. I don't remember like 2 days of my life, just before the accident and waking up in the hospital. Funny thing is, I've dreamt about it and then asked my dad and he said my dreams were accurate.

I broke my hand in a similar manner. I was arguing (SP) with my stepdad and instead of changing his dental i hit the dirt I watched my palm fold and crunch and sadly I squezed it back in place (THAT SUCKED) the doctor said i set the bones perfectly and gave me a weird hand cast. took 7 weeks:(

Yeah, I got lucky like that too. Doc said that I set it real close, put me in a cast and told me to come back in a week. He said that if any of the bones move even a fraction of a MM he was going to put pins in it. That would really suck:(

I wish I could ride my TL, but all I have is front brakes on it (all I need) and theres no way I can twist the throttle or pull the brake. That's what's really been bothering me, all this great weather for riding too. I think I'm going into DT's:freak

I think I've fractured bones in my hand several times...but never broken it badly enough to hurt more than a week or two. I have also punched lockers full force (but never with my full weight behind it). Probably why I haven't broken my hand yet, I always use JUST arm strength which isn't enough to break my big ol' hands. Sucks for you tl!

I've fractured knuckles more times than I can remember in karate, but that just makes them bigger. The hand can handle a very large impact if done right. Nathan, you probably just bruised yours, that is ussually what happens and I have also done numerous times. If you ever do break your hand, you will know it right away. Sensei used to make us clinch our fists as tight as we can for the duration of our lessons, every single lesson, to make our fists stronger. The tighter you hold your fist the less chance of actually breaking it.:D

Well I guess you figured out not to punch walls. It took the same lesson for me to learn. We were playing b-ball in gym class and my team was winning, the teacher decided to put in a sub-par player and we lost the game. I got angry and punched the concrete wall. My hand swelled up and I couldn't see my pinky knuckle. I saw a big lump on the side of my hand and thought it was my knuckle and that I could just push it back into place. WELL, turns out it was my bone because I had broken the fifth metacarpal which is on the outside of your hand. They call it a boxer's fracture because if a boxer punches wrong, this is the most likely bone to break. I didn't go to the doctor for a couple of weeks, but eventually I went and got a cast. It wasn't the worst experience and it taught me a good lesson, not to punch walls.

i whupped my hand about 5 weeks ago when i fell on a ski slope. a friend and i were mountain biking, and we got to running and sliding down this hill, i put on some birkenstocks, and they slid too much. they cout out in front of me and i came down full force on my twisted wrist. it hurts to move it still. havnt been to the doctor, so im thinking i should.
