Hey Joe
I beg to differ.
The manual also explicitly states that during the 30k mile service the radiator cap should be replaced along with the wiper blades. Not necessary!I replaced my wiper blades at 50k miles because they began to streak. I still have my OEM radiator cap even though the manual states to replace it again at 60k miles along with belts and hoses.
My point is that we as Infiniti owners have to be informed but make intelligent decisions separate from marketing hype. Very few vehicles IMHO require the use of premium for day to day driving. Consumer Reports, Car Talk, and many others agree with me. Many other owners on this site and others don't and that is ok. I just inform the new twenty something owners that their G is not going to self destruct if they use regular gasoline and there is no need to feel guilty because the owners manual recommends premium.
Many here are strickly performance owners that are not happy unless they have the most HP and fastest zero to sixty time. The average hottie just doesn't care. Others like me don't give a rats #ss. I wanted a 6 speed, manual, comfortable, peppy, Bluetooth, RWD, Sirius radio equiped vehicle to replace my 14 year old Lexus ES300. I love my G and it has run flawlessly since day one with the exception of some oil consumption (now just under a qt per 3k miles) two TPMS sensors and an air bag module. Well with the $$$ saved this week on using regular, we're going out for chinese food saturday night
