How could this be possible? It's a notchtop SR...

Sorry for not posting this in the engie forum- but I need an answer relatively quick because I am leaving to go out of town tomorrow...

Btw- it's all stock as far as I know. It has an hks wastegate and nismo flywheel...

If you are talking about your compression being 210 it is not stock.Even if the head or block has been decked it would not raise it up that much that motor would have to be built up or your gauge is wronge. One thing else that would raise it up but if you are not seeing a bunch of smoke comming from the tail pipe would be your valve sets are leaking and getting oil in the cylinders.

Well see that's the thing the car isn't starting...like it turns over but there is like no combustion and no smell of fuel on the plugs. Or very VERY faint...

Honestly I am going to be so pissed if it is that heavily modified. I want 250 horsepower max. Not some insane number that is not reliable and requires an a** top of add ons. I don't make that kind of money.

Nor to afford c16 fuel to run if that's what it takes...

You my friend probably have an NA SR that had a turbo kit thrown on it (assuming you bought an DET from somewhere) Either that or its built internally with high compression pistons. As i said in your last thread started about this check your fuel. to make sure its at least getting to the injectors. It still could be stopping there if they do not have power.

I agree, there is a good chance you have an NA SR. There are ways to tell, search for them.

It has got to be NA or your mistaking it for a FWD SR which I believe they had one that is 1.6 liter.

Now I'm a little iffy on it but I think it came with high compression pistons from factory.

no no no, what has happened is you just bought your motor from an importer, well importers are quite dirty when it comes to assuring you, you have a sound motor..

the reason is, they pour oil in the cylinder to raise the compresion of the motor so when you check it it's good.

dont worry about this at the moment, get it running and then run for a few to burn up the oil and then test again.

by the way cory, the pulsating voltage to the injectors is 12v.

Wait, these are cold compression test numbers?

You need to get that thing running, then retest at operating temp with the throttle open.

but testing at normal temp is gonna bring the compression up if anything so just stay on track with getting it running for now broskie.

I agree. Get it started and let it warm up a bit before you perform the test.

Or take it to a shop and have a tech test the engine with an electronic engine analyzer.

Oh, FYI my RWD NA SR (10:1 CR) doesn't even get that high numbers. The highest I've seen was around 165 and that was cold.

I'd vote for busted gauge.
