I noticed that some have swapped their engine to RB and SR. How do you smog those? Do you replace the engine with KA when smog is due? Or something else (where?, how?, what?, how much?, WHO?).

I always wanted to swap my engine with RB or SR but my car is dd and I am worried about emissions and other legal issues. I now plan to rebuild my KA and possibly turbo it if it can pass smog (possible won't pass visual inspection). I am looking for a good KA24DE engine rebuilder and parts.

You're not gonna pass visuals with a turbo setup. California is the gay for anything outside of stock.

Yea if you don't know a friend in the smog business then you should get one. Its the biggest pain that I have had to deal with.

I've already conceided the fact that i'm probably going to have to register my 90 silvia in Texas at my dad's residence when I do my swap next year.

I think you shouldn't have to go that far. An s13 is a lil easier to pass when compared to the majority of the s14's. You could probably find someone around so. cal to help you when you need it.

IN that case, I think I'm gonna go N/A KA or KA-T for now. Probably NA because I'm worried about passing smog. I am considering to get the parts from ka24de.com and find a good ka24de rebuilder.

Fortunetly i got a 95 240 so I don't have to go through OBII smog. UNFORTUNETLY, it's a late 95' so it HAS the OBII equipment. Makes diagnosing more of a pain in the a$$

My name is Ronell and I'm 17 years old. I live in the San Fernando valley. I have a few friends right now that know their share about 240's but... usually they're to0 busy sitting at home doing nothing to ever help me. So.. having a network of friends that could possibly help me would be nice.

I currently own two 240SX's. One is registered as a 1988 (lol I know..) 240SX and the other one is a Black 240SX with a Silvia S13 JDM front end and Tien Coil-overs.

im from the san diego area just recently got my sr in , i got a 90 FB black , if any one is local it would be cool to meet up, especially anyone with more experience with the sr,. , probably wont notice me in the streets, but got the front mount, apexi duals, , lmk if any u guys meet up , im down. lmk

supp guys!finally got my emerald green 95 240sx today and its pretty stock..has some crappy after market rims and mufflers ill look into what those are later. i washed it and vacummed it..the engine bay is pretty dark lol and uhmmyeaim in the 714 area...buena park.. the car has 251K miles and i got it for 1G off a freind's freind..i think its a good deal ...and im pretty new at the scene and my freinds arent really into this....they just smoke weed allday and make beats LOL c ya guys!

I 'm seeing tons of modified 240s running around my area in Riverside but I usually don't have the time to follow one into a parking lot and say hi.
