Snow Tires

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Snow tire recommendation for the EX?

I have almost no snow driving experience but now have the EX in Utah, commuting daily from Park City down to Salt Lake. First snow Sept 28. Get the picture?

Safety and driveability are the goals. Price is no object.

Nokian The Best of the BEST! Get the one with larger and deeper tread spacing for better bite on ice and snow.

Maybe this will help you, from our neighbors in the M35/M45 forum:

Was it the Hakkapeliittas? I don't know what that means, but it sounds winter-capable.

A Finnish battle cry "Hakkaa päälle!", roughly "Cut them down!" or "Hack on!", which gave the colloquial name, Hakkapeliitta for the Finnish cavalry in the Thirty Years' War.

I just picked up my EX. I do not have Nokians on yet. I have run Hakkapalletia WR's on various cars for several years. These are their all-weather tires. Rated as a true snow tire but you get a 50k mile warranty and R speed rating. You will not get that from any other snow tire. You do not need to swap these in the summer. I could get through any Colorado winter weather. I am going to give the stock Michelin's a go and see if I need to go back to by Nokian standbys. I am sure I will.
