word. but you really arent helping the situation. or making ANYthing relevant to the thread. he NEVER said he didnt want to do the work. hes asking HOW to do the work. why dont you actually take the time to read the thread instead of shoving your head up everyones *** that sais "buy a shell!" "his car is a piece of ****!" "scrap it!" ...DirtyGhettoKids wrote:Maybe in 5 months we'll see a "How do i pull my engine!?!11" thread.
i would have to agree with this one. unless you have some experience, it will become overwhelming fast and you may need to take it to a body specialist in the end anyways.OutToWinPAHC wrote:I removed a quarter from my 94 vert parts car. Worst thing to do. Hundreds of spot welds, and hammering with the chisel . Its not worth it. Then putting it back on and getting it to line up and seal right.
I don't know who here has or has not done body work, but a quarter panel replacement is not for beginners. Its something a body shop charges big money for because its tons of labor. You also have to worry about seal leaks now too. For little to nothing you can seal that one up and just go the ghetto overfender route to make it look good for now.
i've done this to some drift damage on my cousin's s13. i tried the studs, but because the sheetmetal is kind of thin to begin with, the studs pull out after some hammering. going from the backside with a spoon and lightly prying with a small crowbar got most of it out. the damage you will need to be shrunk back down. you can probably get it close with a hammer and some dollies, but hit softly. don't wack the crap out of it. the blows will move the metal slowly. if you hit too hard, you might stretch it too far. and either way you will need to get the panel to hold either the glue or bondo. DA sander down with 36 grit. Also i recently was looking for a way to use a shrinking hammer( looks like a waffle head on the hammer) and came across a way to shrink metal using an old Flap wheel that has most of the grit taken off. might be worth checking out the metal shapers forum. they might have some helphttp://metalshapers.org24j0hn wrote:try taking out the interior panel so that you could get to it... and have one guy on the outside with a flat metal hammer, and another inside with a flat/curved metal dolly and use some team work to work it as flat as you can!...
BTW some parts you may hve to get a welder to put some strips in!
oh is that so? if you want me to be honest, when it comes to people saying HELP and things like this i dont JUMP right the f**k on it because there is a possibility that i could be wrong and f**k up someone else car, I'll say something when im positive though. Sorry for my lack of contribution. But im sure with a post count like yours, you've contributed more than anyone.Bstrd240SX wrote:you know dirty, i decided to go see what great things youve contributed to nicoclub, but i couldnt find any posts by you that had any real in depth automotive content.

lay another 1/4 panel over the damaged one w/o removing it ?Kaitaiya wrote: it wouldn't widen the car much, more like a skin fitting over another. but either way you look at it,
im not sure i understand how overfenders work..Logan76 wrote:I would say go overfenders with epoxy and wheel spacers, No matter what your going to have to cut out that damaged area and replace it with an oem fender from a j-yard which may not be as cost effective in the end as going overfenders and some lordfusor.
which would you recommend i try to buy, a shell, or a whole s13 with a blown motor, or does it even matter?heartofaskyline wrote:you can normally pick up a whole s13 with a blown motor for 500. a "shell" normally means that just the engine/trans is missing or blown up.
its not an issue installing them, just having the money.. which is why it'd be better to buy one with it done.. just a thought.heartofaskyline wrote:get off this lowering craze. if you want it lower, buy some f*** springs, if you want it slammed to the ground, get coilovers. lowering springs are like 200 bucks.
thats like a year of saving for me just to get coilovers, then i'd need rucas as well.. my job = fail..Logan76 wrote:Most people take off the aftermarket parts before they sell a shell, but you may find one already lowered, or you could save for coilovers later down the road and install them yourself, its super easy anyone could do it.
previous owner did all the mods to the car. I, however, am not car-knowledged. I ask questions to learn, if I could do the mods then I wouldn't be asking noob questions.hbpignosePA wrote:so lemme get this straight
you have a thousand dollar race seats and a stage five clutch.... but you ask such repeditive questions and don't know what a "shell" is?
i smell BS dude
