Okay, so I’m rolling down the street heading to the store, and I see this yellow WRX, it had stickers allover so I’m thinking rice, so I roll up to him to smoke him. I pull up next to him, we're going about 50mph, we jump in it, he walks away. I'm like, damn, so I set it at 10psi and go again, he walks away again, I’m like, o...k.. So I set it at 13psi we make a turn, I jump on it after the turn I start holding him(barely), he reaches down to adjust his boost, then walks away again. Needless to say his car was a lot faster. It was fun though they were all laughing to degrade me like I always do to people, so it's all-good ;) Nice race.. Obviously not a stock WRX. How modded does a WRX have to be to be able to take a low 13 SR from a roll? I've raced stock ones and smoke them pretty bad. I held one with my KA! Anyway, I assume he was probably in the high 12s. That boy was quick!

At least, as a result, I mapped my boost better, I now have low set at 10psi and high at 13psi, before high was not used. I have it off otherwise to run stock boost for all the local hondas. To bad I couldnt line up with the dude. I think I could impress him with my Nittos, i'd bet my 60 fts are the same as his. 1.9s....

I had an encounter with a slightly modified WRX yesterday. We were rolling at 55mph, he kept edging up as I was speeding up slowly to get in front of him b/c my lane was about to end. So, I just put it in 4th and hit it, not thinking he was going to do anything. Well, he did and came right past me. 2 can play that game!! So, we are going down the ramp onto hwy 123, I keep it in 2nd just waiting for him to floor the WRX to merge, I stay right on his bumper and pass him as I hit 3rd gear. I can't wait to get my new KA built. I miss being able to just kill other cars like I did when I had my GN :( At least I beat the WRX, just not nearly as bad as I'd like to!!

orlando huh....that is where i built my car. their is a plasa across from UCF and on wednessdays all sorts of of tricked out cars are there. i saw at least 50 imports and im not tallking about just a bunch of ricers. i saw a nsx, a coupe supras(one was show quality) and about 10 240sx most with sr swaps. if that doesnt work go to orlando speedway on wednessday or friday night and there should be some there. hope this helps.

I gotta dissagree with you bro.....turbo cars are very often seen here....especially those DSM's and supras. Orlando is kinda boring during the week...but when it hits the weekend......ITS GO TIME!!!

EDIT: and like storey said....on wednesday there is some meets too. i forgot about those.

DSMs are like corn here in iowa. They are everywhere you go. And most of them are modded as well. I have a few friends with mid 12 second dsms. There is one guy in the 11s around here with a dsm. The 240 is a rare commodity around here.

Consider yourself lucky bro....cause 240 are poppin up like flies around here. Because of that fact its kinda of driving me away from getting it. That and the ridiculous prices some people are askin for it. Everywhere i look there is a 240 hatchback....and alot of s14 too. Oh well i would still love to get one.

Not too many S14s in upstate NY, but turbo Integras, Civics, WRX/STIs, DSMs, and a few GTIs are starting to pop up all aver the place.

I like getting beat, it shows you the harsh reality that there are faster people out there. Otherwise, I just race the local stangs, hondas, camaros, and smoke them all. But when a strong compeditor rolls up it makes me happy that there is still competition out there.

There is this dude with a riced honda that lives across the street from my girlfriend, I always want to race him just to shame him. He always rolls by me and gives me the look like his car is fast or something. I finally saw him today as I was taking my mom out for mother’s day ;) Needless to say I lined up with him and rocked him. My mom was all pissed though. Oh well, I couldn’t pass that one up. I pulled away from him sooo hard. It was like he wasn’t racing, but when we went to the next light he said good race and my car was fast. If he had told me he wasn’t racing I would have believed him ;)

Theres a big selection here in Austin... we got your 16, 17 second rice burners all the way up to your 9 second street Supra's.

Of who I know: 12 SR20DET powered 240's1 CA18DET powered 240 1 KA24DET powered 240 33 Single Turbo MKIV Supra's (3 are in the 9's)3 SC300's w/ 2JZGTE Swaps 5 300ZX TT's (one of which has damn near JUN spec engine) 3 300ZX T's (Z31)4 FD3S Single Turbo RX7's (one is a full widebody w/ T88)3 Vipers (that I know of... one is in the mid 9's) 2 Ferrari 550M's (both used to be street raced)1 Lambo Marcielago (always see him between Austin and Houston) 3 FC3S Turbo II RX7s2 STi's5 WRX's (one has an EJ207 (STi ver. 5 engine), another w/ HKS GT3037 turbo)

Bunch more cars I can't think of at the moment...

Coming soon:1 RB26DETT powered Datsun 240Z thats gonna rape all (after it get's done doing a nice 400 ft. burnout)... :)

Hard to have a big ego in Austin... all you need to do is run one of the Supra's from a 40 punch and grab the binoculars as it puts about 18 football fields on you.

Upstate NY is a very general term. I have heard of people 45 minutes outside NYC refer to their location as "Upstate, NY"Where are you located jdmfreak? I'm outside of Syracuse, NY.

I do see a few more s13's pop up here and now. A few s14's here and there. None that I know are turbo'ed. Yet

not to be mean or anything, but thats pretty stupid putting your mom in danger in one of your stupid "street races".... out of all the people you would put in danger...it had to be the one who gave you life.

I dont think I could ever race with my mom in the car. For some reason she is a little scared of speed even when im only like 10mph over the speed limit. I just wish I could remember what made me love speed so much.

*sigh* I wish i knew that, since i didnt really know him. Mom left him when I was 5. But hey, I think my older brother was the one who introduced me to it. We used to drive on the highway alot....and its just a little bit too easy to get up to 100mph when on the highway. Which reminds me.....I gotta take a road trip this summer back to NY.

nismo freak... those are just of the people you know of right? cause i see sti's all over the damn place... and evo's too, but not as much. but i only know a few people with em. yeah austin has some sweet cars. but nothing like sarasota florida, where i used to live. there is a mclaren f1 there and all kinds of ferraris (f50 among others) and lamborghini's... i've never even seen any of em race but anyway there are some sweet cars there.

Why does it have to be "stupid" just because you don't approve it's gotta be stupid? Anyway, I only went up to about 60mph, so I didnt even break the speed limit, I just got there fast. Plus she didnt mind too much. How dangerous is going from 0-60 when you and the other car are the only cars around?

I dont think he meant to come off like that.....its just everyone knows that street racing is sometimes dangerous. Most people wouldnt want their mother in danger. So I am guessing that deCksy put the two together. I am sure that you were not street racing with the other car as you would be doing it while in the car by yourself. By yourself....you push your car almost to the limit. With mom.....push it till she gives you that look of "disapprovement" then you stop pushing it.

I did.. I didn't take it to 100mph and run the full 1/4 mile, I went enough to show the guy that I'd smoke him like he's standing still, at any speed. It's pretty harsh to accuse me of endangering my mother....

Yeah now i see what your saying......it would make me a little upset if someone accused me of endangering my mom too. But so far i think everyone on NICO means well no matter how wrong they come off. On a lighter note.....i am suprised that the guy said nice race and that your car is fast. When i race and beat someone they usually give me that "i wasnt trying look", i hate that.

I want to move to Dallas just for the racing. There are sooo many fast cars out there. Out here there are a lot but not as many. It's hard to justify making my car as fast as it's going to be for those 4 races a year where the car will actually compete. I've had my SR for 6 months and I've only lost like 6 times. And it's not even all that fast. :(

It is, but the laws are all harsh now. I don't want my car taken away. There is good racing here, but it seems like there is faster cars other places. I don't like going to organized street races, I'll race 1 person, or in a SMALL group. But going to big street races you're just asking to get caught.

Last time I went to the local hangout I asked if anyone wanted to race. They asked how fast my car was then I said it was quick. The asked if it was turbo I said ya. 2 people claimed their cars were in the 13s but didnt want to race (who knows why) but everyone else said I'd smoke them. So no races there. Then finally I got a race in with a LS1 Camaro, after smoking him I just went home. :( I always see videos of fast cars in Huston, so I feel like i'd always have good races there. I think So. Cal is more rice than anything else.
