agreed, mostly, only reason i was suggesting the PBMs was because PBM design's coilovers to be slammed and thats what the person was asking for, also they dont make a set for the z32 specifically. but are you talking about this pic? cuz this is not me, i didnt post any pics of my car in this thread since my first post.... atleast i dont think..ArticDragon192 wrote:
Ive ridden on Tein RAs on an FD with 14/12k springs rates. Rode so smooth. You could barely tell it was that stiff. So yes, it's mostly in the valving. Valving can be measured through shock dynos or just through experience. Lowering the car doesn't make it ride more harsh. My car actually rode smoother once I put the new shocks on compared to my old set up, which was all stock, and then Tanabe springs on stock shocks.
Other things that can affect harshness are pillowball endlinks on control arms and pillowball upper mounts on coilovers.
WIth regards to the R32 coilovers, thier car's are built differently from ours. Weight distribution plays a significant role. Not to mention, that even though the R-chassis front suspension is very similar to ours, they aren't exact.
Can we run R32 without problems. Sure. Is it ideal? No. I mean, why run R32 coils when many company makes coilovers for our chassis already. If we were limited in parts, then yeah, do it. But we're not. So there's no need to run parts off another chassis.
BTW, that pics posted earlier, so cheater. The pic in your sig shows your true height. Either either jacked from behind, on a dip, or a mix of the two. Nice try,.
Stances, KTS, and Powertrix can go pretty low. No need to run Skyline coilovers. The rear shocks are also longer than ours, so that would limit the ride height in the rear. And I know that isn't your pic. I wasn't picking on your ride height. Just the dude that posted the bogus pic, lol.phanatikz32 wrote:agreed, mostly, only reason i was suggesting the PBMs was because PBM design's coilovers to be slammed and thats what the person was asking for, also they dont make a set for the z32 specifically. but are you talking about this pic? cuz this is not me, i didnt post any pics of my car in this thread since my first post.... atleast i dont think..
but as far as my ride height the pic in my sig is on an incline from my drive way so it looks higher than it really is, but i posted a pic in another thread when i was in a dip but if you ask anyone who's seen my car its not much higher than that, maybe 2 or 3 inches.
Stiff and a bumpy road don't go together. You'll have so many oscillations that the car will never drive right. It'll just be so bumpy. On a bumpy road is when you want soft suspension so you can get a smooth ride out of it. You want the suspension to absorb those bumps.Rolo wrote:I never said stiff is best either, but it depends on what you want. With the masive speed bumps and bumpy roads op here it's gotta be stiff if I want to slam the car, so smooth valving isn't gonna work for me.
if you're concerned with ride quality yes, but if you're slammed on soft suspension you're already close to the ground if your suspension compresses to much you'll scrape badly . i think thats what rolo is getting at when he says the suspension needs to be stiff for the bumpy roads around his areaArticDragon192 wrote:Stiff and a bumpy road don't go together. No, i took the specs directly off his garage link on 3zc.phanatikz32 wrote:

the lip on that front wheel is too small for a +10 offset and vise versa.
oh well disregard my statement lol i guess offset really isnt everything.Z-owned wrote:

Now THATS a SWEET ride i only DREAM i could have my Z so low but im afraid in jersey my Z would look like it came out of a warzone. the pot holes in jersey are brutal and i dont think driving 20mph and dodging every pothole would be fun for the people behind me lmao. mines is a soft set up so i feel EVERYTHING but i still love it lowArticDragon192 wrote:Profile shot:
