My point was merely that the Skyline R30-R34 was always an inline 6.
Wrong. R30's did have 4 cylinder engines...FJ20ET twin cam turbo to be exact.

Some models did run L-series I6's, but most of the top line R30's were FJ20's.

how can you really ask such a stupid question in the firstplace , i mean come on how or why would you even want to compare the two in the first place. its like this you ask a loaded question and get everyone all crazy for nothing who cares about a freakin evo that has a short history as a performance car anyway lets weigh out the details here the question should have been r32 or evo3 ? in any case the evo had its short stay at the top of the list now with the new gtr debut they can go back home to play with the rest of the hopped up econo boxes. the gtr is a legend in its own right think about it the skyline was japans first turbo car for one, secondly it still is the record holder for racing dominance in japan, lets see the r32 terrorized the racing world in competition most notably group n1 it is the only car in japan to have an entire racing series built around it and lets not forget the skyline has been enjoying dominance for 50 count em 50 years and has been king of japan for almost twenty years as far as the r32 and up and more currently the new evo has an open deck engine design which is gross ( they took a page from hondas play book no doubt )it looks like a cheap lancer with a knock off veilside gtr kit and lets see the new 09 gtr with an exhaust pushes over 500hp is again the most advanced production car in japan and is now in the exotic class of super cars and unlike the evo the gtr's will probably be pushin over a thousand horse months before they even reach the u.s. whichequates into gtrs breakin off evos every where months after release here. but i cant help but say that even a stock r32 can still hold its own with any evo and that is just sad. thanks for playin

and by any evo i mean any stock model evo ever produced. the new ones might pull on the ol d 32 but i can saywith out dobt it would still be right up their ***

welll, i take it back; the evo 10 looks hot. the front end grill area look too much like they copy it from the Nissan new GTR

If I lived in New Zealand or Australia or wherever R32's aren't an insane price, I'd buy the R32 GT-R, or GTS and modify the hell out of it for the difference in price.

But since I live in the US, Hmmm... I'd still get the stock R32 GT-R if they were the same price. I think the new EVO looks ugly, and it isn't as hardcore as the evo8, but even the Evo8 looks disgusting with it's jdm fan-boi Altezza tail lights and huge wing. The other thing lacking about the EVO is that everyone and their grandma has one down here in California, to see the R32 GT-R down here is a rare occurrence. I don't need anymore power than the stock RB26DETT to have all the fun I want and a reliable daily driver.

As far as looks go. I don't think the look of the "new" cars has worn off on me yet, I can't really stand the look of the Scion tC, xA,EVO8,9, 350Z, G35 especially the new Subaru Sti, new celica, none of the cars are appealing to me. I still think the decade old turbo rwd cars from 1997 look better. Supra 93-97 , RX7 93-97, MR2 91-95, S14 Kouki, Impreza 93-01, R32, R33, EVO4,5,6 look better than the majority of cars out today.

My vote gets Evo9 because it cant get taken away from you and crushed. If we were in another country tho I'd say GTR all the way.

R32's are getting rarer and starting to fetch a steep premium.

Well, considering what's parked outside the house here, pretty fair guess I choose the R32.

Especially considering I'm a big Subaru fan, too. :D
