I am sure you could get a T56 from a cobra, vette, or ziper to work with the KA. I would just requier some custom bellhousing adapter. The only time I feel a 6 speed would be worth it is if you where making 400+ hp. even then just upgrading to a z32 NA rear dif would give you a final drive ratio that would give you a top speed over 165, and a lower freeway crusing RPM.

The more narrow your powerband is, the more gears you need to utilize it.

a t56 would be nice. they are def a proven trans. all usdm 240's have the same 4.08 rear as the z32 na. the final drive can be altered with tire sizing as well:thinker

i've heard some volvos have the same getrags as the supras. I do which we could adapt a sequential smg or smgII into our cars though. Imagine the new m5 7 spd?

i wouldnt be too worried about it.

if the mods list in his signature is complete, he is gonna be awful suprised when he hits the .50 6th gear and the car stops accelerating.

Why would you want anything taller than a .80?

taller=numerically smaller

the guy who wants the 6 speed, wants it to increase his top end speed.

You'd be TOTALLY wasting your money on 6 gears. Do some research guy.

You'll notice on this page it says dog engagement. This means it has no syncros. If you look at the picture, you'll notice the dog fit loosely into the gears. This is to allow you not to have to use syncros. But shifting requires a very deliberate strong movement of the lever and it will be noisy as it engages. There was a NASPORT KA powered 240sx in an SCC article a while back that explained the noises they heard and the manner in which you had to shift with this type of engagement set-up. Not exactly what most people would consider comfortable.

As I stated when I posted the link. I believe the UK site offers a full syncro gear set. There would clearly be advantages to a six speed box over a 5 speed depending on your goals and desires. I think to say do some research is kinda short sighted cause I think that's what this person is doing. I have rebuilt 2 of the 6 speeds from a 350z and I can see the advantage of a low stop light 1st and a tight gear set 2nd to 5th with an OD 6th for cruzin...Different strokes....

OK so I checked the UK site and they no longer offer a syncro set.
