I have a Nissan Silvia S-14 1993 sr20de(t). I am having some idling issues. my car slowly rev's up higher and higher as its ran longer. in about 2 minutes it is running at 2500 rpm's i have untightened my tps to adjust and if i turn my tps up and hold it, the throttle goes down to normal idle around 1000 rpms but then automatically adjusts itself back up to 2300 or 2500 around that area. it seems like the ecu needs to be reflashed as it does it automatically every time. and it gets worse as the car gets more warm. also my oil pressure drops as my oil temperature will raise. maybe after 10 min. of driving it would be to high to drive any more safely. If you need. Email me at [email protected]

** Update ** Now my car wont start. when i click the key to on. i hear my fuel pump priming. everything comes on as far as cd player, lights, blah blah. i have a oil light, engine light. and soon as i turn my car to start everything shuts off and it does not attemtp to start or turn starter at all.. and when i try it again. nothing comes on. i have to disco the battery to get it to allow everything as far as lights and stuff to come on.

This sounds like a dead battery...

exactly like a dead battery, but i have a volt meter in my car and its showing 14.0 volts which is normal. and its a 3 week old battery. So its DEFF not the battery. .. totally wierd but sounds like a fuse or something to me .. but ive checked all the fuses and they are all good. so that eliminates that for me. it all sounds like maybe it could be my ecu causeing this stuff. but i really have no clue.

My friend said there was a way to flash my ecu and we tried it but i dont think it was the right way. he was saying to disco the batt. turn the key to start. take the keys out and connect the battery and that would flash my ecu. but i think there is more to it than that.

Maybe this will give you an answer and may restart the ECU at the same time?

okay i checked the fault codes on my ecu and its say 55 which is no malfunction. but my car is still idling high and the oil pressure is still droping. but my car did start up and i did get to drive it down the road back to my house. it wouldnt start at first but after putting the ecu in diagnostics mode and checking the fault. it started up. but still having the same problem i started out with.... any more idea's would be great. and i would clean my iacv but i dont have any carb cleaner and i am living in england right now on an afb and the car shop is closed. and i cant drive my car off base.. well i atleast dont wanna mess it up to get to the store. so i will have to wait til another day when they are open to walk to the store and get it. also i have a greddy throttle body over my manifold above that screw to the iacv. i think i might have to take that off to spray it. unless anyone knows an easier way to clean it out.

My guess is IACV or a leaky injector....I thought it might be the pump, but you have upgraded so the chance of the is slim.

I think mike zajak is still a contractor permanently stationed there. He was a good friend of ours. My dad has been stationed in Afghanistan for the past five years... By choice! haha. Definitely a small world. haha

hi i was reading up on your posting and you wanted to know an easier way to clean your iaacv well what i did was. The hose that comes from the iaacv and goes into the piping from the throttle body. get a can of throttle body cleaner stick the little straw into the hose while it is still hooked to the pipe and spray it in there. ***remember*** as you are spraying the car will want to die so make sure you are revving the motor at a constant 2grand or higher while you are spraying the cleaner in it. when you are finish make sure you keep the car running for a little bit untill it starts to idle smoothly before you turn the car off it. It work for me when my car had an idleing problem and my car would stall when i slow down to a stop and after i did this my problem went away!!!
