That fact that we agreed on something scares me...

But yeah, I saw the new one too. It far less technical than Toyko Drift so there's less for them to screw up. This movie was more of your typical action/revenge/buddy flick that just happened to be filled with hot cars.

I'm glad that first s15 didn't get driven, because they probably would have totalled it like the s15 front kouki in it's first race.

But I did like how Paul Walker's character had enough sense to change that STI's suspension before they took that shizz to Mexico...

I'm gonna see it again tonite.

This whole thread did 1 thing for me: Made me want to watch the movie even more now for some reason... is the OP a secret marketer for the new FnF movie? Damn you and your slick sales-man, reverse psychology pitch/discussion-ism. NEMESIS!!

I didn't feel there was enough driving. I don't know. It was pretty good though. Popping wheelies at 60mph in the dirt is where it's at.

Here's another little tidbit I liked about the movie: The GTR using Scramble Boost rather than Nitrous... ala the MCR GTR. Nice.

I liked the movie but they used way too much CGI. Oh and Vin Diesal smashing a window with his elbow?

There were 2 s chassis in the movie, both were silver. The silver s15 belonged to the guy that set the races up. The silver s14 with the s15 conversion and the fugly paint belonged to another guy...

Like someone else in the thread said, I'm gonna choose to believe they were implying that the VIN's were switched to show up on DMV records as a '98 240sx rather than an actually illegal s15. You can tell they've been doing their homework. This movie and Toyko Drift have been far more technically accurate than the first 2 movies...

the group of guys i went with; we all laughed and giggled the entire movie. honestly, with a range of 19-40 in our crowd, you would have never known we were older than 10. its just a good time, if you take the movie seriously, then you're an idiot. flashy s*** sells, period. thats why there is soo much hype and glam in all of the movies.

however, yes..movie wasn't horrendous, but there was a couple terrible parts. much better when it came to actual stunt, animation, etc etc.

haha, i got everyone rallied to scream NOS the first time it was used :D. we got the whole theater going

Actually, that part of the movie was real.Rhys Millen drifted the 350z up to the top.

yea in tokyo drift they got rid of the original stunt drivers and replaced them with professional drifters because the stunt drivers could not understand what they directors wanted when they said "drifting"

the only explination i have for the 98 240sx s15 was that it was registerd as that. in cali if you find an idiot working at the dmv you can sometimes pass s15s off as 240s. that might be why it came up as that. just a real life POV. lol. i agree the movie was just a movie though.

I thought Tokyo Drift was pretty decent until that Han guy died, after that the movie really went to hell. Seriously though, a bunch of high school kids go to a crime scene and make a RB powered Mustang in one day?

That is not the one that they were saying had illegal mods, nevertheless, it is quite funny looking with the stock motor with so much exterior work

Oh damn. Guess i should actually know what im talking about/research before i spew some more nonsense. Thats pretty sweet though, it just looked fake maybe it was just the camera/lighting/angle, and he was like 2 in from front and back bumper at same time all the way up that was pretty good. But then i just think that Rhys should have been in the movie, heh they could have made him look a little younger or something. He was a good pick for the part since he was stuntman prior to driftman. Thanks for pointing that out though really didn't think someone did that, is it on the special features or something? Who got to drift the cars through tokyo was that more american drifters like Rhys or did they use him and some japs that were there? That would be sweet to do in a city like tokyo.

I also thought about the "240sx with illegal mods," I mean they could have done their homework. How else would you register an s15 in cali? You would swap vins with a legit 240, so the dmv/fbi would see it as a 240.

Right when that girl said 240 with illegal mods everyone looked at me and laughed though haha.

It definately was not an SR -> the actual S15 had an SR20DE in it but the motor they show being swapped was the RB26...http://www.edmunds.com/insidel...15639
