I order the part from trademotion.com. I was sure I order the coupe part becuz it was more expensive ($152). But it doesn't fit. Has anyone successfully swapped the 2.5 lights for 3.5 ones?? If so what's part number did u use?

Sorry, can't offer any help here. I think you're the first 2.5 to try to do this swap for the coupes.

If you figure it out though, I'll be very interested. Next time we have a meet, I might just have to swap with Rob or Ricky to see if the 3.5 mirrors fit the 2.5.

Try to contact the place you bought them from and verify the part number.

I've done it. You bought the sedan mirrors, not the coupe mirrors. The 3.5 coupe mirrors will fit right into the existing spot and everything will work properly.

All the info you need is here:http://forums.altimas.org/zerothread?id=333844

Papawu posts the link for the correct mirrors and side covers about halfway down the page.

did you really have to contact Trademotion about this? shouldnt the fact that they didnt fit tell you that they are not compatible? i think the people on this forum know more about Trademotions products then Trademotion does. Just listen to us and either sell them or send them back and buy the coupe mirrors, because you bought the sedan mirrors. there have been plenty of people that did this mod for the coupe with no problems.

i dunno how they charged you coupe prices for a sedan products. unless you actually did order the coupe mirrors, and they accidently sent you the sedan mirrors.

Ya, I got them from trademotion from the link on the original post... I forget the exact amount but around 300$ sounds right. Getting them painted is the most difficult part...

If you get yours from the dealer they have an option to be pre-painted for extra charge from what i know. I got mines off 2 different salvaged altimas so i had to put some work into them.

Make sure u get the right spray paint. There's a place where i live that mixes paint to EXACT color code you give them. I'm sure there's one NJ too, if not stop by Staten Island, i'll give u their number.

The most time consuming process is taping them off. U dont want any paint on your mirrors, led blinkers and wire harness. In the big picture of things u only need to paint the covers. I know someone took them off and put them back on but i was affraid of braking them so decided not to risk. If u think u can manage to not brake them u don't need any of the taping/masking tips If u do then make sure to cover EVERYTHING that not supposed to be painted. Here's a pic.

Now since i don't know where you get your mirrors i'm not sure if u need to sand them down first. I did since they were painted before. Fine grid sand paper they sell EVERYWHERE will do the job. U just gatta get all that shine off before painting them.

and here's my painted mirrors

Perfect color match, but i fukked up on not getting "clear gloss paint" whatever it's called. Guy at the store said that paint itself is glossy which it is, just not as much as factory paint on the car. Really no biggie but if u want them to be PEEEEEERFECT u might wanna add a coat or 2 of clear coat for that shine u get when u get out of the car wash. I'm probably getting too much into it since noone will ever notice it but me haha.

Surmann changed leds in there so they def do pop off. I tried to and while pushing covers away i was affraid i'll brake them. These things didn't look too sturdy to me. That's why i didn't proceed and used masking tape instead. But yes, they do pop off.
