yup, better gas mileage, cheaper to mod in just about every area, but they just dont have the torque the 2.4 ka has. my friend cant keep up with me on an uphill section in his miat.simmode1 wrote:^^^
Aren't Miata's cheaper to own and modify than an s chassis? I bet their gas mileage is alot better than a 240's, too.
That's nothing a mild turbo setup won't fix. How's the Miata do on the downhill vs 240sx?carps13guy wrote:

Local Miata's gas mileage thread...http://forums.dfwmiata.com/showthread.php?t=15784Seems to vary wildly between 20-32 mpg. Weird. Still better than most 240's thoughslidestyle69 wrote:gas milage better??
no sir, no better than a 240, if anything the 240 will get better than the miata.
just saying based on experience.
that was with a turbo, the greddy bolt on w/a starion fmic. the miata obvi spanked me on the downhill, but that was when i was stock suspension. now that everylink is aftermarket & there is not rubber bushings on my car i wonder how it play out. but its different now. my buddys turbo miat got totatled while parked cuz some dumb **** dropped her coffee while going around a corner & plowed into his left rear wheel. now he has a stock miat w/ES bushings. i think i can take him, it just sucks he lives in SD now. my spirited driving buddy is gonesimmode1 wrote:

im with you on that one. the nb miata's are the best imo. a much more comfortable car as wellsimmode1 wrote:Meh... I still want a Miata. I've been looking at their prices on CL all day. The 2nd gen's are alot cheaper than I thought...
are you talking about driver's comfort, i.e. leg space, distance from the wheel etc? compared to zenki/kouki, right? how tall are you?carps13guy wrote:im with you on that one. the nb miata's are the best imo. a much more comfortable car as well

no, i was talking about leg space & cabin room from an nb miata compared to an na miata. my corbea a4 seat is comfy as hell in my 240, that seat soaks up bumps cuz my spherical bushings cant lol!zenkistic wrote:are you talking about driver's comfort, i.e. leg space, distance from the wheel etc? compared to zenki/kouki, right? how tall are you?
it says the company right on the rear window...migsk8 wrote:hey and by any chance does anybody know what wheels those are on that blue miata a few post up ?
Congrats! But plz be careful on the winding roads. I handled an emerency call this past Tuesday at 8:45pm about a Lotus Elise canyon racing in Colorado that ended up in a head on collision with a BMW X5.migsk8 wrote:long story short....i bought a miata and im selling the kouki, i got one for 2k with a hardtop, hell of a deal. as sson as i sell the kouki im buying d2 coilovers and phat set of gold wheels with a polished lip, the cars white.
p.s. the car handles like a dream, its 8:45am here right now and im really thinking about taking the car down some windy roads...toodles
+1 congrats on the miata. with that being said, i have also seen my fair share of enthusiast accident aftermath in to the ER. im studying to be an x-ray tech & in the year and a half ive been in the program ive already seen enough " canyon racing" accidents to make me think twice about pushing it even past 50% on my favorite roads. i like my s13 coupe alot, it handles great. but i dont like to explore the limits of my car on a public road & crash my project. ill wait till the next autox event. call me a square or whatever, but a smashed 240/miata/whatev, busted limbs & broken ribs doesn't sound good to mesimmode1 wrote:

As an enthusiast, that call scared the hell out of me. We don't need any more of that going on...
