It's an illiois car that has 140k. Of course it has rust, but not much. I haven't any pics, but damn do I want a vert. He's asking 2300.What do you think? I know hard to decide with out pics, but it's close. Only 70 miles away.

Let me fill you in on my situation to help with your thoughts.I have ordered a CA18. that was going in my current S13 that still runs well. If I get a vert the CA will go in it. And I can sell my S13 coupe for somewhere around 3k, depending on what they want. (with new suspension (kyb + tein s-techs) 17x7 wheels that have 90 + % G force sport treads) and 2.5" megan cat-back. Also on the car includes JGS motor and trans mounts. So should I just start over with a vert and rid the current S13?

You're right, it is really hard to tell you if it's a good deal without any pictures of the car to see.

Of course, we are all really biased here in the 'vert forum. So we'll all tell you to ditch the hardtop in favor of the 'vert.

In order to give you advice, let me ask you this question:What are you after with your 240sx? Do you want a track car or a fun car? A dyno queen or a daily driver?

Never buy a car sight unseen off a person you do not know. At LEAST take a drive and see it yourself!

A fun daily driver. My buddy and I were cruisin around in his GST vert on a gorgeous night and It got me hooked, and then he let me drive it and that sealed the deal.

Oh, of course. It's not an auction thing. It's at a dealership. I spoke to the salesman on the phone and he said it had a little rust, but everything functioned fine.

^^ agreed,

The price of vert's is a bit on the tough side to judge.

Some people pay 6grand for stock ones...while others won't pay half that.

I personally only spent 500 on mine...

To get a fair opinion we do need pics. One the other hand, I bought my car sight unseen and just one picture one autotrader. It was a 4 hour drive away and I dropped $4500. I'm happy as hell with my purchase, but I think I lucked out.I'd take a drive to at least go see it. Check out the thread of things to look for when buying a 240vert cuz dealers don't know what they're talking about. It's just another car to them.

I've seen that thread. Thanks! Damn 4500! Sounds a bit extreme to me. Of course I don't know just how clean it is.I was just about to fly 2200 miles (to cali) for a black one that had about 130k miles, 5spd swap, JDM front end, and a new top for 4k. It was so sexy and clean. Had everything I was looking for. Unfortunately I was a few weeks late. The guy had been selling it for 4 months too! He said around there no one likes verts!?! Too bad my buddy didn't let me drive his vert a little earlier.I'm going to check out the one in illinois tomorrow. so long as the rust isn't bad , I'm snatching it up. Then I can start my new project!I'll update later! Thanks everyone!

Yeah, $4500 is high, but my miles are low! (87,000)

Good luck with it and I hope it's what you're looking for. I didn't notice you're from Racine. I drove a 240 coupe to SD 6 years ago from Milwaukee. Been here since and in 2 years my vert will be trailered back to WI when I move

Why are you coming back to Wisconsin? I'm looking to get out of here soon. (Can't stand the winters)
