Take off just about everything on the 240 and see what sort of weight and times I can get it down to?

I think it would be fun... got nothing better to do.

I'll have to wait till it gets cooler here in texas though before I axe the a/c.

Right now I'm thinking:

1. A/c System2. Power Steering3. Interior Peices4. Trunk Crap (already done) 5. Trunk Supports6. Belt Fan7. Strut Bars (Front and Rear)8. Front Seat and Rear Seats9. Sound Deadner10. Airbags & Airbag Controller11. Battery 12. Bumper Supports13. Hood14. Front Sway Bar

I wonder what it would run?

Might be tempted to dump a clutch into it and juice it... 12 second KA for 600 bucks LOL.

i think the real fun is in the twisty's not the 1/4 or 1/8 mile, i think its alot more fun taking 15 mph corners at 45 staying in your lane and hearing the tires howl in protest but still keep their grip, now thats exhilerating

Do it. Just do a few before and after runs, to compare, and see if it actually helped any.

I think you should do what my friend did to his 03 civic si:

take out the entire back seat, panels, sound crap, etc. take out everything in the trunk.take out all of the front panels, unless you have use for the radio. take out all of the carpet, mats, sound material. leave the dash and the center console.

I mean, his crap is bare, exept for the dash, front seats, steering wheel, and center console for the radio. he even took out the peices around the e-brake. total of 150 pounds! (we weighed it) that's like 1.5 tenths right there! then you should do like he's doing and take that opportunity to put in a rollcage. then sign up for the houston drift event, sept. 14 at gulf greyhound park. 20-25 bones! be there at 9!

wow that was a very creative and shameless way of promoting the event props to you my friend, 1.5 tenths is garbage for a street car, tenths only matter when you get in the drag racing leagues on the track, id rather keep my interrior comforts and focus on building my engine, plus if you keep the car all stock apearing theres alot less reason for a cop to pull you over, who knows if he sees that gutted interrior maybe he'll ask you to pop your hood and nab you for some illegal parts, oh and the new civics look like midget-minivans

oops, I meant .15- 100lbs=.1 right? anyways sideshow, why get your panties all in a bunch when he's the one who wants to do it? it sounds like a racecar anyways, my friend's is still a daily driver. and they both race where weight and tenths make a difference. he hasn't gotten in trouble with the cops, the dealership actually gutted it for him, but you are right, it does look like the new honda odessy, hehe, it's even been mistaken for the hybrid!

oh, and about that event, just want more people to know, his site is down. and I don't work for him or even know him, so I really don't give a ****.

it's cool- he used to autox, but now he's into roadracing- don't have to pick up cones in 100+ degree weather... He used to have an integra type R, but he says the si's ok now, and he gives a lot of people a run, including the Z06 crowd if they can't drive. he smokes my ***, but everyone says that with my stock suspension I look like I'm driving my mom's car, or maybe a rowboat... I don't think he's gonna be able to enter any serious racing events yet, but he's working on it, suspensionwise and getting a roll cage soon. trying to make his car scca spec. funny thing is, I've seen him pass an rx-7, a supra, and a porsche all in the same straight at motorsport ranch, but he can't drag to save his life...

i've been debating on tearing mine out. It definatly looks weighty, but it also looks like removal is pretty perminant.

GMAN13- There are more ways to drift than just power drifting with major horsepower. You can use your brakes to drift and you can also just use your steering wheel to set up a drift at high speed.

.5 sec in the 1/4 for every 100lbs. Might as well smash out the windows bro, glass is heavy. Keep the hood but lose the hood supports. That way you can still drive the car.
