I did that the first time I took it to the smog center and that's when the light came back on.

when my light was going on thats all i really did to get it smoged and surprisingly i passed. i went to smog same day and right before i reset my ecu (screwdriver) and it didnt go on. doesnt work now though. it turns on after a couple of miles or so after reseting. i havent checked if i have that kink on the knock sensor too. from what i read the knock sensor goes on even if theres nothing wrong with it IF theres another code like the EGR being throw. iirc. and fixing the EGR code will get rid of the knock sensor in that case. and i tested my EGR and seemed to work but there was no vaccum from my BPT valve. i got tired of diagnosing and no money to buy stuff so i just left it alone. car works good and im still getting about 30mpg.

OK, so today a friend of mine helped me replace the knock sensor with a used one (last resort for me). Boom we pop it in, fire it up, light's still on; so I reset my ECU using the screwdriver. The code 55 comes on meaning nothing wrong w/ the circuits yay! So I put it back to the normal mode/non-diagnostic mode. I start it, it's fine, the light doesn't come on (as expected, until it comes back on after driving for a while); so I decide check the ECU again for error code. Boom! There's a code 13 and 34(32 gone)..13 being something like temperature sensor, we figured that we must've not put it together tight enough after plugging in the knock sensor..so we do and it fixes the code 13.

So I do the same thing again, reset the ecu, then check the error codes again; this time only the 34 code comes on...but I reset it to turn off the light and recheck the ecu for error codes again...WTF code 55 comes on!! So right now it goes back and forth like that. I left with the code 55 on last, and reset the ecu. I haven't driven it much yet but hopefully that damn light doesn't come back on. *crosses fingers*

know anybody with the same engine as you? swap ecu's like i did and see if it was damaged or something..it really shouldnt..its possible the used knock sensor is damaged as well...they are delicate sorta...if they are dropped pretty much useless..i assumed you already checked for that kink..as for the egr its probably the temp sensor or the solenoid replace those and see whats up...also check to see that there is no clogged lines

I actually had to do the harness trick earlier today with my "new" wiring harness.

Tell me, is a symptom of code 34 bucking/stumbling acceleration at partial throttle? Once I got past the bad vacuum range I was fine, but if I had the throttle part way open under load the car would start stumbling. I thought it was a boost leak until I checked for codes, hopefully this fixed it. Haven't driven it again yet, I have an oil leak to take care of haha.
