And I don't think you should buy a shell and swap an engine in if you've got little experience. That's like me trying to swap in an engine into a shell, what a disaster that'd be :P But it'd be a good learning process, but such a headache...
If you've got the $2,800 now, just offer one of the guys that much, call them on the phone or something. They'll usually do it, if not just click then just hang up and move on to another car. $3000, really isn't a lot of money for a car.
But that's when you wait it out on buying a car and find yourself a desperate dealer, by always negotiating with the price.
You don't get what you deserve, you get what you negotiate.
Yes I have $2,800 in my hand right now (figuratively). The only reason, besides the fact that I want to drift the f*** out of my next 240 and I'm doing a swap for my senior project in high school next year, I really just want a reliable car, and the one I have now doesn't fall into the reliable category... And I figured a good way to get a reliable car would be to rebuild it myself. ( foolproof I know.. :p)
I'll see what the guy with the S14 will say to $2,800. I have a feeling he will bawk at it since we've already sorta discussed price. But hey who knows!
It's hard to wait for a buyer when I have a job that I can't get to without a car. haha
