At the dealership down the street from my house some one traded in a 2007 G35S Loaded. It has the tech and premium package. It only has 4300 miles on the car!

Every option including RAS I think... Sure felt like it But I don't know if it has that option available!

It is not silver but the grey color and it has Chrome 19's that look very sick.

The only problem is it is an Auto and I hate the Auto!

I could get 20k for my sedan and I know they only gave the lady 26500 for the G35.

It would cost me like 7k to get the newer G that is loaded!

I don't know what to do?

By the way I have cash that i could spend on the new G

And my G sedan is paid for!

I say trade the car the 07+ is 1000 times more awesome then the 06 and older. The transmission will learn to drive the way you want.

They gave me an 06 when my 07 went in for the 1st oil change.... it is a completely different car.

I am thinking I'll probably trade my 07 when the 330hp motor goes in the sedan unless they somehow make the sedan weigh more then 3500 lbs.

TampaG35:

You should try to control the G demon in you . As you well know, I am also a victim of the G demon. I know exactly how you feel.

Frankly, from a financial perspective, telcoman is right---this economy is still suffering from the cold of the mortgage crisis. However, from a performance perspective, Gwoods is also right. The HR engine and its associate transmission feels different from the DE engines and their associated transmission--totally different cars.

This should be the decision rule, if you know you have another $7K saved elsewhere, that can be used to pay off the $7K you are about to owe in new car notes, by November, then I would say go for it as G-Woods suggested. But, if you don't have that type of money in cash (at least $14K) lying around between now and November, then stick with Telcoman's advice. There will always be a G-35 waiting somewhere for you.

thats the thing... When i bought my G in july of 07 I paid cash for it 22k and have been saving ever since for a new car! I put away about 400 bux each month into a car fund and then I invest that money so i make more money. Right now i have about 7k sitting in there and could buy it cash as well.

I Just don't know about the auto. If it were a 6mt it would be in my drive way right now!

Sorry to Pi$$ in your Cheerio's, but the boy's are right. Although I feel Hen Pecked by Telcoman's repetative 401K preachings, I must side with him. My first question to you is: Are you a home owner? Are you married? The only reason I ask is because the wife and I agreed that we would not buy the G until we were in a $75-$100K equity position in our house and could easily pay cash for the car. I may be young, but my wife has the savings plan of an old soul. Even though we chose to finance about 1/2 of the car's value, we did so under the knowledge that we could earn more on our investments than the 5.5% interest that the car costs.

Do yourself a favor and re-evaluate your current financial postion before taking the plunge... if you can easily afford paying for a new G in cash, then do so... otherwise, you can monopolize on a distressed real estate market and invest in property.

We tossed up the idea of either the G or a pool... Despite the G's supple leather interior and frigid A/C, I would prefer a pool in these 110+ degree days...

I know you'll make the right decision for your particular needs... Just weigh the situation and don't jeopardize your good financial position over a car... Make sure you're solid financially. I think now more than ever may be the time to "hunker down" and make more secure investments. I'm not preaching to you as you are a grown man and can make your own decisions... just remember though that we are not all "doctor's wives"... (in good fun Jeff)

Take this with you... True happiness does not come from having the things you want, but truly wanting the things you already have.

Keep us posted whatever your decision...

Peace and Love,Dave

Im with you on this one Jeff... I went to the Infiniti.eu website and it shows the car there. I might get the 7 speed auto in that case. I would want the sports package, nav, premium, tech, and Maybe even a G37SX or G37xS LOL.

I really like the Brakes. It is the same 330 hp motor that is in the Coupe. And then the sedan will be really faster than the Coupe

listen to yourself. i think you need to step back from the computer for a bit and take a cold shower. we started with a 2007 g35 and have now reached the 2009? g37 sedan and potential options.

I guess the decision is now easier since it is one of function. Well, like Gwoods said, they are two entirely different cars.

Frankly, for the first time in my life, after driving an auto G-37, I actually preferred it to the manual transmission G-37 which I also drove. It would appear the HR engines seem to be great for auto transmissions. Others may see this differently. The 2008 G-35S would probably be the same.

Dave i thank you for your Pissing in my Pot!

I am not married, but I am a home owner. I am a Finance major from the University of Tampa. I am working on my MBA for UT as well.

Right now I work for Ramond James and I live very well.

I am not a doctors wife but for being 23 i am very stable. I have no debt other than my home. I pay my credit cards off each month. My cars are both paid for! My home cost me 112k as that was the price owed to the bank. I bought it from a family friend that was about to loose it. It is worth about 230k now. Before the market crashed... A similar house in my hood sold for 355k. It is a 3100 Sq ft home, with a Xtra large 2 car garage , 4 bed rooms 4 full baths and a large office! OH yea we have a pool too!

I have been very lucky to have found a deal on the house but that is because the markets are so bad.

Here is a for Telcoman, I have 37k sitting in my ROTH IRA as i have been investing money ever since i was 18, and about 12k invested in an account that I play with stocks. I also have my 7k car Fund lol.

Buying a new car won't change my life one bit. That is what the money is set aside for

But with things getting tight (mind in gutter) I would have to get a really sweet deal on the car!

Tampa- IF you gut tells you to buy it then do it.........damm the consequences of what MIGHT happen.............I am 63 and have been doing the impulsive deed all my life with cars and have never regretted it one bit although its made me work smarter to pay for my deeds..........

Hope you make the right decision and enjoy it to boot.

Be glad you bought the G instead of a pool, my cousin has a pool and spa nothing huge, probably would fit in your back yard with lawn to spare for Kona. Point is during the summer his electric bill is pushing $700! YIKES

Tampa,

Very smart!

I started my first IRA at 18 and my first 401k at 20. I cashed the 401k to invest in my wifes wedding of her dreams and honeymoon in Jamaica... Go buy some Visa stock with that 7k and sell it in a year when you doubled your money! Visa IPO'ed in March at $55 a share... I wish I had more money to put in it. Mastercard IPO'ed 2 years ago at $40 a share its trading at $286 a share today. There is no reason Visa won't do the same

I say "life is too short, enjoy it while You can".Sounds like You are in great financial shape ,especially for Your age.Infiniti is offering 1.9% on new cars now, so You could buy new and get exactly what You want, and not have to touch Your investments.I recently bought a 08 G35 Sport for $500 under invoice, about $34k out the door.A little more money than the used car Your interested in,but You will be it's first daddy. And if the 3.7 sedan is coming, im ready in a couple years.I dont like buying the first couple of years of the "New Model". Give them a couple years to work the bugs out.

Wow, I'm surprised. Most 23 year olds are not as financially secure as you which is why I wrote my answer. I don't mind the LOL If it saves just one young member here from financial ruin I'll feel good.In any case, I'm sure you'll make the correct decision.

Yep, all may cars ive ever owned where cash!

I buy them private owners as the second owner. Pay them in cold hard crisp C notes and write Gift on the title so i don't pay taxes on the car for the second time!

Been very luck that i could afford to do this.. Plus i don't have to worry about having a car payment lol

Just an update... I went to the dealer today to buy the car...

They wanted 32k for the car. I told them I would 28k cash right now and write them a check and they said they had the car sold to a dealer for 29k..

I told them well sell him the car and have a nice day.

So back to the 06 God i love her

I think im going to wait too! I think it come out in 2009 or 2010. I would go for the 7 speed auto as i think it would allow you to have probably close to 2k rmps at 70mph and would get you close to 30 if not better than 30 mpg
