Should I Buy a 2007 G35

Concur with waiting for the next version of the sedan. Although the loaded 2007 car is better than what you have now, it isn't that much better, especially if you don't like the 5-speed automatic. The next generation sedan with a better transmission and, maybe, direction injection would be a big step up.

As far as affording it is concerned, there is a balance between being a prodigal and living poorly in order to save for a future that never arrives. It sounds like you have your financial affairs in better shape than many people decades older than you.

I think im going to wait too! I think it come out in 2009 or 2010. I would go for the 7 speed auto as i think it would allow you to have probably close to 2k rmps at 70mph and would get you close to 30 if not better than 30 mpg

aahhh one of my pet peeves and when car companies make upgrades too soon.. i really don't want to wait a couple of years

and why did they stop making automatics for the 08 sport sedan? kinda sucks
