I agree, to a point. While you are buying a product, you're buying it within the marketplace (a system). So, while my $3 may be insignificant. if I am able to mobilize support for my cause, the collective spending of those supporters has the potential to punish or reinforce behavior that I am targeting. The marketplace is not a take it or leave it proposition - the marketplace provides options. And as Hash said, what will ultimately determine whether such behavior continues or not is the bottom line, which is to say that there is no better way to express yourself in the marketplace than in spending your money elsewhere.

Yeah, but the boycotts never seem to last beyond a scattered few individuals. I suppose in theory the idea of a mass boycott would work... in practice, I've yet to see it happen, or read of it happening.

Turns out these loving, open minded liberals can't handle voices of opposition. On Target's facebook page, the boycotters are getting anyone with a difference of opinion banned. Now I will be shopping at Target EVEN MORE.

They might not want to pay benefits for gay couples. That's a potentially *large* additional expense for a national retailer like Target
They already do. Any team member of a distribution center (it could be different at a store) can get insurance coverage for a spouse or domestic partner, ie. gay lover or live in bf/gf.

Target pwns Wal-Mart. They have better stuff, treat there employees a bajillion times better and hands down are 9 thousand % cleaner inside and out. I've never been a dirty Target, and never had to track down a shopping cart, whereas I've been in many many a Wal-Mart that was so disgusting that I've turned around and left and I usually have to try to track down a freaking shopping cart.

Eh, I'd have to say you find the most milfs at high end athletic clubs without a doubt.

I dislike high-end athletic clubs. I want a bike, eliptical, treadmill, and a lot of free weights. I don't even care if it has AC. What I don't want are granite counter tops, stone tile flooring, a "reading/relaxation" area with suede couches and wicker tables, racket ball and tennis courts, amenities galore, and a $60+/mo membership. Give me the basics and make it cost <$26/mo. Plenty of good looking young (think college) girls without much money there.

I completely agree. That being said, the milfs are still at the expensive ones.
