camera phone pics, but still cool shiz.
went to the shooting range with my boss the other night...shot a 9mm glock 17 like crazy.
WOW that is fun.
but gun control is important. it was nice to learn how to operate a gun in a safe environment. def addicting.
def was not expecting all that recoil, especially with my skinny little toothpick arms. lol.

Looks like you had good time. Looks like your grip is where it should be, but you lean back. Lean forward a little more to have better recoil strength. Keep on the fun Stace!

Hey, which range did you go to? They closed the only shotgun range in the area so I'm curious...

bend your elbows a little more and lean forward slightly.

it'll help ya manage the recoil a little better.

thanks for the tips. you are right, i was leaning back too much and i shouldve bent my elbows---i found that when i bent my elbows it was easier.
its also hard to aim! i went through two boxes of ammo. lol.
its maryland small arms range in upper marlboro, MD :)
im not planning on shooting someone but maybe getting a permit. thinking about concealed carry. hopefully i wont have to use it, but its a good thing to know how to do.

and stupid me wearing a tube top :/ the shells flying back at my burnt my arm lol. i did however like the gunpowder all over my hands when i was done. mmmm. had i been in the wrong place at the wrong time i couldve gone to jail for murder lol. my boss advised me to keep the reciept with me in case i went out (was planning to hit the club afterwards) and something went down and i got blamed because itd be all over me. lol.

Ranges are a whole lot of fun! I bought a Ruger MKIII in .22 for my 21st so I could learn proper handgun control on a small, chap caliber. I've been thinking of getting a holster and carrying but I haven't had the motivation.

45 are man stoppers. I personally like the .40 caliber ammo...

anyways, you're learning. no pressure to be had, just have your fun and the skill will come later.

Never tried a 9mm, but I shot Ryan's 45 and his 40 when he had it. They weren't too bad at all as far as recoil. I tried out our friends pistol grip shotgun... oy. Still, it's manageable. Ryan wants me to get a gun for myself, so we're looking around for something that'll fit me.

Glad to see you're out shooting. I got my wife into it and now my sister in law like shooting (and she's naturally good too)

Umm... :wtf2: Powder residue on your hands does not make you guilty of murder. It's like having ketchup under your fingernails. Who cares? The important thing is you don't shoot anyone :chuckle:

The only thing missing on that target was a Dodge Neon logo.... :chuckle:

That looked like fun. I used to spend a time at an indoor range in my youth, competing with .22 rifles. Great hobby.

I like how out of all of those shots on that target, there are none in the center space. There are holes everywhere else but the center. Looks like fun. Shooting at the range is one of my new favorite activities.

Maryland is a "may issue" state. Concealed carry must be justified; they don't have to allow you to.
http://www.handgunlaw.us/states/maryland.pdf

You are a small girl with a fair presence on the internet, depending upon how you phrase it, you would be justified to need some protection.

Don't listen to the machismo. Guys have pen15 augmentation tendencies and view anything short of a desert eagle as a chick gun. Anybody feeling tough can walk downrange and let Stace pop a hot FMJ in their a**; how's that feel?

9mm can be effective but bullet selection becomes more important. Like a small engine must be revved higher to keep up with a bigger one, the 9mm must move faster and open more effectively than a .45 to get the job done.

Stick with the 9, start with light loads and work up to hotter rounds. Concentrate on fundamentals and muscle memory. Accuracy is the most important thing and fine motor skills are the first victim of an adrenaline rush; you must be able to perform on autopilot. Even a 44mag won't stop someone if you can't hit the guy.

My wife has a .22 she is learning on and she is spooky accurate. If she ever has to pick up my weapon and protect herself, the kick will scare the crap out of her and she will likely only get one round off but it won't matter because it will hit where she aims it.

Be careful around guns, always treat them as if they are loaded. You may not get a second chance. It's a fun hobby but never forget these tools are deadly.

Good to see another girl having fun at the range! Keep going, I bet you'll get more used to the recoil. I don't know if they offer something similar in your area, but I did a Ladies' Shooting Day at a local wildlife club which gave me a chance to shoot a variety of firearms. Just bought a Makarov 9mm about a month ago, should be great for concealed carry

I don't care what anyone says, but 22 can be deadly. And too many underestimate them and ended up paying the price.

Every time I go to a range and see the hits on the ceiling it makes me wonder WTF those shooters were doing.
I'm just glad I wasn't on the line that day.

f*** you buddy! lol

Left eye dominant+shooting right handed=s*** shooting.

This now solidifies my ache for another firearm.

Not always, that's how my wife shoots, right-handed, left-eyed, and she's very good at it.

Are you trying to shoot aiming with the right eye?

I'm not entirely sure. It's been a lonnngggg time since I was taught to shoot. I learned on a .22 rifle with iron sights when I was 10 but until recently, never had much practice. I can shoot a rifle fairly well but a handgun for accuracy pwns me.

I bet if you tried with your left eye you would see an improvement. I had never seen someone do it before but when she tried using her right eye it went bad. Do what works I say. Has anyone noticed in CSI Miami, David Caruso aims left eyed while gripping right handed?
