Try that and see if that works. The bulb on the left is from the climate control and on the right is from the knob for the 4x4.

The left bulb looks like a #74 bulb in a twist base. The right bulb is a 12v microlamp. New bulbs you buy won't have the blue filters over the glass. It may be possible to transfer them over but I've never had luck doing that - the filter just tears. The blue filter is to make the white light "softer" and more pleasant to the eye, and it's not necessary to have.

Some LEDs will fit in the climate control, if you want to do the upgrade: see here

I didn't know either Nissan or Infiniti offered the 12v microlamp socket w/ bulb without purchasing entire button assemblies (in the case of A/C and recirculation buttons) or climate control units. But I guess sourcing the bulbs from Nissan/Infiniti retains the blue filter.

In that case, 74 bulbs can be found at WalMart or any auto parts store (or LED upgrades is a possibility too as stated before). The 12v microlamps I've only found at Radio Shack thus far.

That's not a 74 buld that I have. It's smaller. Radio shack didn't have the microbuld that you speak of....its a tad bit bigger.

That's odd, the one in the twist base appears to be a 74 bulb. I don't know of any bulb smaller than that. Could you take another photo of the bulb after removing it from the twist base? You can use small pliers if necessary, just be careful to avoid smashing the bulb.

The 4WD knob bulb looks identical to a 12v microlamp, though. You can even see where the leads run through in the picture; you have to bend the leads out of the way, pull the bulb out, put the new bulb in and run its leads through the original paths and then snip any excess lead off.

Ya...it's smaller than 74. The leads on the smallest bulb at radio shack is a little thick.

I was able to get the bulbs for the climate control but not the 4wd knob.
