fredtoday, i took out the fuse on tail lights and shift lock(they are separate on my 92) and waited for a while, then replaced them and started the. now everything works like normal.

what the hell?? maybe it needed time to set itself up or am i tripping?

My first solution was the same, but it got progressively owrse over teh weeks until they blew with every application of teh brakes.

FOllow teh hints outlined here and hopefully your fault will lie in one of the easier replacable components.

OR with luck, it could just have been time for that fuse to go and you'll never have the problem again.

Thats the way I would do it disco each module at a time and find the short................Sorry to hear about the rear seat ------common, you would be surprised at the things we find under the seat.

The value of all my tools (new) together is maybe $1500, which puts me firmly in the mechanic camp (or in the DIY elite).

IF I could put a zero behind that $1500, I'd could squeeze into the technician set.

My education is all of the "wrench in hand, why the %#$* won't this work?" variety.
