Have fun.

For sedans, just modify piping for the coupes. It's pricey... lol

Hahahahah!

Honestly it's probably worth less than half the price to do what I did with my turbo. Unless you really want brand name parts (IE: brand name turbo... brand name BOV) because honestly that's all that's really different about my kit. Then just save the cash.

Go Go GO!

I tried to take your list of parts to one company and they totally blew me off. this is of course after i went to them about 6 months ago for them to make me a custom turbo set up. they quoted me 8 to 9 grand. im not sure why i tried to give those jack @sses another chance.

Well i found this place in Lansdale Pa called RT tuning and they found this kit and said they would be happy to do it. i didnt even know this kit was released until they told me.

My kit is being built with out the Apexi neo though. I am getting an up rev reflash with dyno tuning. im really stoked about. im having trouble sleeping.

Interesting, didn't know the UpRev stuff supported the 2.5L, from their site they support the 350Z with the 3.5L...

Anymore info you can give me on this?

Yup

the head dude at the shop connected his laptop to my cars obdII port. He copied my ecu and called it a rom dump. He sent the info to uprev and they said they will have tuneable program of the factory ecu. (or what ever the heck its called). i think they are gonna crack the code and enable my guys to tune the factory ecu.

The rt tuning guys said this is better than a piggy back because there is no need for correction - leaning or riching the fuel. Its exactly correct at all times.

they also said that the guys at uprev were really excited about getting a copy of my engine map because they want to release something for our cars and they want to get more involved in our cars.

Hope that helps - (also i usually say this - i have no idea what im talkin about, i hope i got it all correct)

Yep, I think they know from the PDF I found on their site for supported car but each ECU might be different. It'll be the same with the BullyDog tuner with the ZNXXA serial codes/model numbers to right the programs for.

If they need a dump from mine they are welcome to get in touch with me and I will send whatever they need.

Also I am interested in this because as you said it is a better way to tune instead of tricking the ECU/MAF with the piggyback.

If you can, find out some more about it. I'll test it out for them as well.

There will still be tuning needed. It will have to be tuned for the injectors and other stuff, but it will (if tuned right) work better than the SAFC for sure. Plus you have WAYYYYY more control over tuning. That's why I tried to use the AEM FIC... :/

Yup id assume it will be the same thing as with the bd tuner. 40 different engine codes.

i can do 2 things for you.

1. say something to my guys and see what happens

or

2. (i had the brochure stuck in my couch cushion)

Then you would have to take your car to someone who is uprev certified and they can hook a "cipher" cable up to your car. Its 300 dollars for the uprev license (flash) and 175 dollars an hour for tuning. Those are my prices not sure what u can work out.

Hit and miss, the CVT is s***. Some people have it fail without boost. Take your chances.

Cool I emailed them earlier, i'll see what they say. I doubt anyone in my city is certified lol. We're lucky if we can find a shop that tunes cars properly... only know of 1 good shop lol.

PLUS the CVT in the 2.5s is supposed to be not even half as good as the 3.5se CVT.... so its a guarantee that the transmission will blow on the 2.5s CVT.

UpRev e-mailed me back saying the exact same thing you got told. They will need a dump of my ECU. To do this you need to purchase the Osiris Tuner ($700 USD). Once you dump your ECU, send them the dump file and they will work with you so it will work with the UpRev software.

This is cheap compared to alternative methods. Honestly it might be the best way to go assuming they can get it working with the software.

Have you made any progress on your setup or worked with UpRev from the last time we spoke about this? I would be all over this if I can confirm it works. Easy to make the money back on the SAFC Neo and stuff.

Their customer support seems awesome as well since they got back to me right away.

Nothing has changed since the last time we talked. Sorry

SFR said they had one turbo in stock - but that is bs. The kit is available and they are piecing it together. They said 2-3 weeks til delivery. So until the kit arrives nothing is really gonna change. i think its been a week now. (and waiting on uprev)

Well with that osiris tuner - you dont need it unless you plan on tuning it yourself. But if you can do that go for it.

The program is really neat though. my tech tried selling me the cord and program. You can roll the windows down from your laptop, honk the horn and monitor just about everything. but i said no thank you. I think he said the cord was 200 bucks.

I will keep you posted for sure. ill post here and then prolly start my own thread once it gets closer to install time/completion.

Update - just got off the fone with the guys from rt tuning.

they said uprev finished the patch and everything is ready to go.

Bad news they didnt order my turbo kit yet, because i didnt give them a deposit. Even though they said they would order it. Oh well the check from my credit car will be here in 3 days, and they can order it then.

If you have time to wait forthe turbo kit, you should get everything else running. At least get the UpRev flash installed and tune for the bigger injectors. Then once the turbo kit is here, it's bolt on and adjust A/F and you're done.

Would save you the down time if something goes bad with the UpRev stuff. It's easier to tune it for stock and bigger ijectors than everything at once. I want to see what this puppy can do.

Ah, hmm.. cool. Let us know how it works out then. Honestly though to save you and the shop time I'd get it running on a stock setup first to make sure it works (less to troubleshoot if it doesnt). Then add injectors, tune for them on stock. Then add turbo. But to his/her own.

Oh, that kit is a basic kit I found out. When you ordered it did you tell them it was for a coupe? I assume you'll either have to cut a lot of piping or won't have enough. I didn't see a selector on the site to choose coupe or not.

Good luck, post results :D!!!

I spoke with UpRev more today via e-mail: I asked them if the UpRev Tuner will work with our MAF sensor.

"Scott,

You'd need to either enlarge the MAF tube, or hope that the HPX MAF sensor we have will work on your car. Currently we haven't tested it to work on the Sentra/Altima so I'd have no idea."

Just because they haven't tested it does not mean it won't work, so hopefully it does. Honestly, I'd like to have this UpRev Tuner just to have it and play around with it. *Sells Family*.

Wow finally a kit out

So could you safely raise the boost with this kit to something higher around 10 , or would you have to buy the upgrade parts they're suggesting?

I wouldn't go 10psi on stock internals. It's probably fine but borderline. At LEAST get valve springs. The piston rings are pretty thin/s***ty too so blow by isn't good. I dunno. 7 pounds is a safe bet and even then things can break if it's not tuned right.

dldjros69: Yeah, 7 pounds should be fine. I wouldn't let them or yourself get all power happy then kaboom. I know they are a shop and do this all the time but the motor just can't handle it for day to day driving.

Now I gotta bump mine up to 8 just to beat you.. rage. lol.

I cant wait to get before and after numbers. i think the uprev tuning is gonna make a huge difference.

They just tuned an m45 the other day. He said he made about 12 hp, but if the m45 would have had and I/E he could have made 20 plus hp.

they said if i wanted to go higher they could install a manual boost adjuster

What i mean is that you don't have to upgrade any of the turbo parts, i think it said something about if you want to raise the psi you gotta add this and that

Shouldn't have to upgrade any turbo parts, just put a 7 pound spring in the waste gate and you're set.
