i think wat DaCoupe means is that when your trying to boost higher your gonna need supporting mods like lets say better internals to boost 12 pounds

Yup

the head dude at the shop connected his laptop to my cars obdII port. He copied my ecu and called it a rom dump. He sent the info to uprev and they said they will have tuneable program of the factory ecu. (or what ever the heck its called). i think they are gonna crack the code and enable my guys to tune the factory ecu.

The rt tuning guys said this is better than a piggy back because there is no need for correction - leaning or riching the fuel. Its exactly correct at all times.

they also said that the guys at uprev were really excited about getting a copy of my engine map because they want to release something for our cars and they want to get more involved in our cars.

Hope that helps - (also i usually say this - i have no idea what im talkin about, i hope i got it all correct)
holy turbo talk.....if they come out w/ something really kool ill get it from them lmk what they come out w/ or if they need a car to prototype on

TURBONETICS SUCKS BIG TIME - they took forever to ship the turbo out!

It goes into the shop tomorrow!

im also thinking about getting a custom exhaust. Hopefully that will gain me 10 more hp with the tune. (trying to keep the cost below 500 bucks)

Well you can have pics of the turbo set up, but unfortunately at this time there will be no custom exhaust. i was talking to my guy and he said the price would be around 1200 bucks for what i wanted. Straight from the turbo to a resonator (possibly) to 2 universal magnaflow mufflers. 3 inches to the mufflers.

I said heck to that price at the moment.

But my build starts tomorrow and i should have her back by Thursday night.

i have a very repeated question... i know 2.5CVT = crap and will not take boost. That white altima did it and blew his transmission very shortly( forgot his name). but what EXCATLY makes 2.5CVT so week? and is there any way to overcome that?

I would actually like to know how the ctv would stand against an sts rear mounted turbo..

Why would it make a difference? Possibly get more turbo lag from the length of piping... and there wouldn't be room for the piping and lines anyways, unless you want them dangling down by the exhaust piping.. I'm sure it could be done, but i'll pass lol.

From my understanding, sensors in the CVT are highly susceptible to heat, in both the VQ/3.5 & QR/2.5 varieties. These sensors were the cause of the transmission failure experienced by Blake (adidas2go - 3.5 CVT turbo). He was able to overcome the heat issue by adding a transmission oil cooler, and I don't recall him ever having problems with his CVT again.

Now, that was the transmission in the 3.5, which is designed to handle more power than the one in the 2.5. But honestly, I think that in a turbocharged application, the stock QR will experience issues before the CVT encounters problems resulting from a non heat-related source.

I'm no engineer, but I think that adding a transmission oil cooler may enable us with the QR/CVT combo to run moderate boost pressures. However, I don't have the money to risk it and find out whether or not I'm right, and we're probably all in the same situation. Considering the expenses of adding a turbo kit and the risk of damaging a CVT, it makes more financial sense to invest in a "track rat".

Or swap out the CVT for a manual. :P

i was actually debating on switching out the cvt for manual when my cvt goes, but i remember mehdi saying it'll cost approx. $2000 than you have to add the price of a custom build or the SFR and than in my situation ill be lucky cause i have buddies who know how to install turbo's cause they both did it themselves in their spec-v's

i would rather take that 6000-7000 and invest it in a straight line 6 cylinder car or just be retarted and spend half of that on my car and really get it ready for the track!!!!!!!!!

Ah, yeah, the things holding me back are the 120k warranty extension for CVT and damn DFW traffic. :\ ... But ugh, CVT beats me down sometimes.

ATTENTION

This kit does not fit the sedan or coupe 2007+!!!!

What fits

The turbo, the turbo manifold, and a floating inter cooler supported by air!!!

Lol

My car has been sitting in the shop since monday, while they figure out a game plan.

x2... downpipe, ic piping, make a bracket for the ic, rethink the stock pcv a bit. The rest is as straightforward as any other vehicle.

God Id make a kit for these things if I had the time, and scotts car all the time so i wouldnt have to make jigs...

I think he's talking about the Pollution Control Valve. That's the only "PCV" I know of.

Hopefully this shop didn't dive into more than they can handle. Yeah the PCV system needs to be adjusted, install a catch can, etc. Figure out something to shove in the valve cover... (not giving away that secret lol).

PCV valve = positive crankcase ventilation valve; one-way valve that keeps combustion gases from building up in the crankcase.

We are keeping the injectors.

We nixed the neo from the beginning. Uprev flash - fully tune able.

there is only 1 kit available for the 2.5 from SFR. My shopped called them and asked them if the kit would fit a coupe. SFR said yes it would work with "slight" modification. So yeah its bs.

Just talked to my guy 2-3 weeks til completion. Bah

If you get some free time, power up the SAFC and let me know what the fuel +/- is for the RPM ranges on those injectors. It'll be worth the wait .

Did mine in like a week and that was "here and there", they can get it done.

The fuel controller is "universal" (mostly) and the injectors will work fine.
