Seminew owner. Spoiler question.

I have been trolling around the forums. I finally made an account to ask a question regarding the spoiler on the Rogue. I recently (well in March) bought a 2010 Rogue S Silver Ice. I have been looking around eBay and other websites such as Amazon for spoilers and such.

Has anyone bought their spoilers from eBay? Anywhere cheaper to buy them? Also, how is installation and paint match. Thanks and sorry if this kind of thread has been posted earlier. I read the sticky but it seems as it hasn't been updated since 2007. Also, would these fit a 2010 Rogue (the poster says 08-09, so I don't know).

Oh yeah, I am also interested in buying a rear bumper protector. Looking at them on eBay, I see that there are two different types.

Well, this is my first post on NicoClub. I hope to become an avid poster! A little background on me and my rogue. The Rogue is actually my first car. I would say that I am probably younger than most in this forum since I am only 17. My Rogue was bought on Memorial Day Weekend at the end of March. Its Silver Ice and is pretty much a base model S. I have only done one upgrade to it, which was to tint the windows. My car has hit 3000 miles this week!! Okay, sorry for the long post.

First off, although the dates on the 'Rogue FAQ sticky' don't change, it is periodically updated. Our forum software does not change the post date when we edit it with new information.

Second, insomnia816 went through the whole eBay spoiler thing recently. He didn't like the quality of the aftermarket unit and ended up buying an OEM spoiler in the end. It seems the OEM fits much better and may well be worth the extra $$$. Elton Norway also posted a great step-by-step install. You can read all about it in this thread. Pay attention to the last few posts where the eBay spoiler is compared to the OEM:

Damn, you've got me beat, Roguesque. I'm 20 and got my Rogue when I was 18.

Anyway, the first bumper protector you linked to is the same as the one Nissan offers. I have it on mine, and it's a great little accessory to have. Otherwise, I know I'd have a bunch of scratches in the clear coat on the bumper. It's great too for when snow/ice builds up on the bumper. Then you don't have to worry about scratching the bumper when breaking it off. (don't know if you live anywhere with lots of snow, but I do)

I actually just picked up the OEM spoiler. The cheapest place I could find it was nissanautosports.com for $240 shipped. I figured it was worth the extra money for better fitment and quality. After all this is a 20K + vehicle so whats an extra $100.

Hello, this is great info. Thanks! My problem is different though. I bought an OEM rogue spoiler but it did not come with a template. I tried contacting the online seller but no reply. I tried my local Nissan dealer and they did not have the template. They gave me a number to call but I got a useless call center. Where can I get a template or if anyone has a spare template or even a scanned one to send me, I would certainly appreciate it. I have a spoiler but I can't install it. Any help or suggestion is welcome. thanks guys!
