well well, the car is sold. as of now. still on ebay just for the hell of it as i dont think people will bid it up that high. but i got $18,000 pluss shipping to SC. I get to keep the laptop he gets everthing else. Im towing the car down there this weekend. He was my third highest offer, i had one for 19grand but the guy seemed like a flake. Where this guy will have the money to me by weds. The new owner is 32 year of age and a body shop owener, just for your info. I also picked up my nissan 240sx SE. on friday. It does not have the hicas stuff. and has a tiny bit of surface rust on the rear lower fenders. Easy to fix! Got the car for 500bones. and the interior is good and has no body dents. So Im gonna pay of my civic 11grand and i have 7grand to play with on the nissan. First im getting the motor in and exhaust, D/P, intercooler. What turbo do you guys recomend? Us honda guys us the t03/04, but im not sure about the 240. thanks and welcome me to the club!Oh how do i tell if it has a lsd?

Jack up the rear of the car ( you can place it on the differential itself, the easiest way) and turn one of the rear tires. If the tire on the other side turns as you are turning the tire, you have a LSD. If it does anything else, you have a open differential (Another way to tell is the stock VLSD unit has an orange sticker on the top right side of the pumpkin, but it is pretty hard to see when still on the car) . If you don't have an LSD, typically a used one out of a junkyard is $225-$500 depending on what it is coming out of, the condition of the car, and just how nice the guys at the junkyard are. If you going to a junkyard, look for a s13 240 with either Super HICAS badging or ABS, or an infiniti j30 made after 11/94 and before 11/96 (can check the sticker on the door). It is the same unit in both these cars, the r200v, and will bolt directly up to yours, it has 3 pairs of 2 bolts on either side. Also may want to check out http://car-part.com/ .

By getting the motor I assume you mean an SR? Depending on what series motor you get, it will have a t25 or a t28..(I think most people here would reccomend the S13 motor).. Most people around here want moderate HP and quick spool up, so the T3/04 would do fine. I have also heard alot about the 'T3/04b' i think the B is for ball bearing? Thats the direction i'm heading..

after flaming your car, I'd like to be the first to say congrats on getting the 240, and welcome.

yeah i was looking at the redtop. as i hear it is beter for putting out more power when fixed up due to head design. Is this true? The one this with this 240 stuff is that theres not as much info on the net for it. HOnda was much more easy to find out the info for things i wanted to do. But i guess thats half the fun of it. OH thanks for the welcome

The s13 red-top is the cheaper way to go.. you seem like the kinda person that does things right.. so i would suggest doin the same as me and going with the S13 blacktop.. they are the same exact engine, except the blacktops are newer..and..well..black..

you are thinkin of the S14 blacktop that adds some VVi crap, different head, and a marginally better turbo.

the infomation hunt is half the fun - for me atleast.. There is a ton of good info out there on the SR tho.. SrSwap has a big FAQ, Daunttless of http://www.afterdark-tuning.com knows just about everything..
