Hey Guys I got hit and ran recently in front of my house... and I have already bought a door to replace it, thing is they hit me perfectly on the handle and rendered the handle useless.

I somewhat opened the door panel (enough where i can stick my hand in)and rolled down the window to check the internals but i see the handle and lock moving pieces however, I think many of the internals near the bottom are broken.

What I'm wondering is how do I get a seized Manual door open? :lock: :lock: :lock:

The interior handle won't open it?

First try kicking the door from the inside while holding the handle. Damagae like that could have wedged the door into the frames. Give it a few good kicks to see if it will dislodge.

If that wont work, I would pull the fender, and unbolt the hinges, allowing you to pivot the door out a bit, and you may be able to slide it off the latch. If not, you may be able to get the door panel all the way off, and manually operate the latch mechanism.

Good luck.

So I've tried kicking it while holding the handle already no good, and I have the fender off and unbolted the hinges off, and the only thing holding it on is the pin from the inside. I'm thinking about just cutting away but I do not know where to begin and I do not want to mess up the parts to install the new door

Well the door is wrecked, so cut a window into the outside of the door. You know roughly where the latch mechanism is, just a 6" opening in the door skin. Just keep an eye on your cut depth. Use a small cutting wheel.

Woot thanks guys I managed to play around with the lock from the inside of the door and managed to free the door. The lock/handle became disconnected on both sides due to the hit and run =/
