I would keep shpping areound to find the cheapest arangement available. If you sell your car with damage on it you are likely to lose your shirt.

It will be difficult to get a car as nice with the money the sale will net you.

The cars value is low as it is, and with damage that only makes things worse......... If its in good condition otherwise, best bet would be to fix it and then sell it...... You may be able to get your moneys worth out of it......

When your ready to sell, post here on NICO........

Good luck trying to "seel" or sell your Q45a. Those are HUGE money pits. The active suspension is not very durable and is very costly to fix. If you do a search on the forums, everyone tells people to stay away from the "a" models.

If you try to sell the car in perfect condition, you'd get about $8000 for it. With the damage, you'd probably get like $4000 for it. But like I said earlier, it's going to be very hard to sell the Q45a.

I would just donate the car to charity and get the tax writeoff.

I was reading that initial post and was thinking the same thing. I didn't want to slam the guy but dang!

Anyway, since some of you stepped in... My suggestion is to sell the Q even with the damage and buy a dictionary!

$10 G's? Dude. :tisk:

My 95Q is *pristine* with low miles, impeccable maintenance, not a scratch on the exterior, PERFECT interior, $2000 in premium wheels/tires, no weird "act sus" issues, AND a warranty. It would barely pull that much.

You're good to go if a NICO member who can fix the act-sus (it'll croak soon) and the body damage will give you $3K for it.

Put down the crack pipe and call us back when you are willing to slow down and have a rational discussion. You found the best place on the internet for advice, but if you continue to talk like you just stepped out of "8 mile" You're eventually just gonna be ridiculed, this a serious board and you will get serious advice, type slowly and keep telling yourself..."If I was really eminem I would not be worried about selling this car."

It's OK, brotha. Let it all out... :(

Just think, if they held their value, you (and I) would probably never have owned one.

The damage really kills you on this one. No way you'll sell it wrecked for more than $4K (I'd eat my hat) and once it's repaired (which won't be cheap) you'll still only get MAYBE $7K, minus what you spent on repairs...

If I owned it? And if I had no conscience? I'd get the front fixed as cheaply as possible (junkyard parts, cheapo bodyshop) and sell it to some saggy-pants, pimply-faced chump teenager with more money than brains.

Certainly not being a racist, only a little anti rap. How would not liking eminem be racist? I'm suggesting that you give us facts about your car that we cannot figure out without you.How many miles? What is the damage? What have you done to the car to keep it up?With these kind of facts , we could give you better advice, otherwise an active car with serious damage even a 95 is worth basically a couple grand, parts only.

OK, one last serious offer based on your last post, I'm in Maryland, the car must be close as you mention MD/VA/PA. Where is the car, and are you interested in having a NICO member look at it? I actually might be a buyer based on condition, I always wanted an active car. Well?

It'd be a good project car. However, I'm certain it hasn't been properly maintained.

A 95 Q should have had AT LEAST the following recently: Trans flush, trans cooler, underplenum hoses, TB/fuel rail cleaning, new NGK's, knock sensors, O2 sensors, cooling system flush, brake system flush, rearend fluid changed, psf changed, brakes, new tires.... It'll need new accumulators (at $1200 each) pretty soon as well.

That electrical stuff is gonna be a nightmare. :(

The active suspension is usually a subtraction from value since it costs so much to repair. If it's working properly (which would be very rare) then it's worthless (add zero, subtract zero) but if it's broken, then it's going to make resale even harder.

ARGH!

Pretend you are writing a newspaper article. Use punctuation, capitalization if you want, proper spelling, some grammar, and maybe a dash of coherence.

This isnt your AIM profile. This is a forum. WHY DO YOU TYPE LIKE THAT? WHY?!?!?!?

The suspension is basically worthless........ Its not going to make a 5000 car worth 10,000....... Just not that great...... if it would last the life of the car, then it'd be good..... To me, I wouldnt get an A model, because of the high repair costs...... There are enough things to worry about on a Q, and one more major thing would be too much for me!!!

And I agree, if the depreciation on these cars werent so bad, then I wouldnt be owning this...... Try finding a decent 94 LS400 with 121k for 5500...... You dont buy these cars for their resale value (in fact that is almost a "con" to buying one)...... That being said, I think your best move is to fix it up decent enough to your tastes, and then drive it forever...... It will take much more than 10k to get the car in good enough condition to sell at 10k......

I would pay maybe 3000 for the car, and use it as a parts car for my Q......

But if you do sell it, get it fixed as cheaply and easily as possible, and pass it on as cheaply as you can.......

And just so you know..... you wont know if the suspension is in good condition without having it checked out and/or riding in a PERFECT Q45a.......
