Where my sedan brethren at? I want you guys to ring in on this thread and let us know why you chose the sedan over the coupe.

For me, I was soooo set on buying the coupe. In august, I wanted one of the first coupe's on the islnad which was a Precision Grey SE. I test drove a white one (grey was on storage lot) and loved the feel of it. The only negative I found was the lack of headroom and trunk space. But, I liked the car so much that I was willing to sacrifice those minor creature comforts to own the coupe.

The sales guy went through the whole process and I almost bought the car then and there; however, I wanted to check out another dealership before I took the plunge. The next day I had to fly to another island and when I came back 3 days later, the car was sold

I went to check out a Dark Slate they had sitting on the storage lot and right there she sat, staring at me with a little smirk. I saw my sedan in Precision Grey, something I've never seen before. I took her for a spin and fell in love with her. I guess you could say it was love at first sight

Til this day, I have no regrets on buying the sedan. For a while though, I thought I made a mistake because of the seat rattles and a couple of other minor things. I then find out it's a problem on the coupe's as well so like I said, no regrets.

I noticed the coupe SE feels a little more "sporty" than my sedan SE, I'm assuming because of the shorter wheelbase. I absolutely love my trunk space. I have a 10" sub in a pretty large enclosure and it takes up less than a third of the trunk (I can still fit 3 dead bodies) haha j/k Four doors is something I've come to appreciate. I've only had two-door cars my whole life so this was a change. And I especially like the fact that the doors on my sedan don't swing way out as do the two-door cars.

So why did you, my sedan brethren, pick your sedan over the coupe? I know you coupers are probably like "Sedan brethren? What about us coupers?", but you guys rule this Altima forum. I only know of a couple guys with sedans, so I want you guys to ring in. We gotta give these coupers a run for their money

i have an 07 sedan. personally i dont really like 2 door cars. im a very simple person, and most 2 doors are sportier flashier cars, and thats not my taste. there are some very nice coupes out there, but none that i would really want to drive. just like with the G's, i would get the sedan over the coupe anyday. im not old, im only 24.

also i used to drive a celica back in highschool and i hated having to drive more than 3 people in my car. to much of a hassle to get everyone in the car. plus now, my buddy has a scion tc and i hate getting in the back of his car.

so by personal choice alone, i would pick a sedan over a coupe. which is why i drive my car now.

I have a sedan too. I don't really like the coupe either. 2 doors isnt vey convenience. and the front grill of the sedan looks so much better than the coupes. When I see a A/C, I always think of it as a want-to-be G35. I just dont't know why some guy buys a 3.5SE instead of a G35 or 37. The prices are about same, maybe 2-3 thousand differences. If you can afford a 3.5 SE , why dont you buy a G35 instead. It looks so much better and much faster

First of all, the G37 are no where close to the price of the 3.5SE fully loaded. And the average consumer can't get deals on the G37's either, since they are so brand new.

And as far as the G35 and the 3.5SE goes, the price is not the same. Before buying my 3.5SE coupe, I was looking at 2007 G35 coupes too. And the lowest price I got for a fully loaded G35 coupe was $1000 below invoice which is about $36,000. I bought my 3.5SE coupe fully loaded for $29,300, which is approximately $6500 difference. To me, thats a big difference. I am getting ALMOST the same car (I stress the almost, because I know its not the same thing) for a much lower price. I can use that $6500 else where and feel good, or put some of it back in my 3.5SE and get more power/upgrades and still have money left over.

LOL, missmedude, What are you talking about? There is a huge price difference as not average stated. Also, theres a reason that the A/C is under Nissan and the G35 under Infiniti. I also don't agree that its waaaay faster. Also, applying your own logic, why didn't you get a G35 Sedan?

I bought my Sedan strictly based on the fact that i had a kid on the way, and the wife demanded a 4 door car for loading the kid in and out. It's also much nicer when going out with other people. I used to have a Camaro Z28, and i always pitied the poor bastards who got wedged into the back seat.

I like the Couple, but i think the Sedan looks a little more refined than the Coupe. If i was a few years younger, i would have really jumped at the edgier look of the coupe, but i am getting older........

In Canada the 3.5SE coupe is 31,398.00 VS 47,350-49,350 G37, That is a MASSIVE difference. Note to consider that CND currency is greater that USD so there is almost a 20,000 USD difference between the 2 models. Even the G35 sedan Priced at the lowest range will still come near 40,000. Also canadians pay nearly 50% of thier paycheck in taxes, unlike the states, and the car prices still dont reflect the market according to the CND dollar, The prices is Light and day difference.

I bought my 07 3.5SE 6MT w/ Sport Package at Invoice. If I wanted the coupe I'd have to fork out $1000 over MSRP which I definitely didn't want to to.

Didn't really like how the back-end of the coupe looked compared to the sedan and I have room for rear passengers The Coupe's back seats shouldn't even be there IMO.

I got my 3.5 AC around $500 above invoice... not $1000 above MSRP. Anything can be negotiated.

I agree. It all depends on dealer and location. From my experience, it is much harder to negotiate when the car model has just been released (< 2 months). As the car becomes more mainstream, the prices become more flexible. It also depends on dealer location. If you are located in a very populated area (i.e. Los Angeles, Miami, NY), the prices will, for the most part, be higher than the prices in a more suburban area.

All I gotta say is I totally agree with this. Plus most coupes are cop magnets.

How so? What does the type of car (coupe or sedan) have to do with being attractive to a cop? Sounds like an erroneous statement so far...

Yeah. The guy who tinted my windows said that if I had a very dark tint, a coupe would be more likely to get pulled over than a sedan with the same dark tint...

About being a cop magnet? I wouldn't go that far, but I see where that statement would stem from. I guess he's just referring to the fact that coupes do have higher insurance costs. Most coupe drivers are younger single, mid-twenty folk who would more likely speed than say, someone in a "family sedan".

I'm sensing some confusion here.

jdshift, you said you got the sedan because it's practical.Eric merely confirmed this judgment by saying "word" which means that he confirms and concurs with what you said.

Well, I have the best of both worlds, so I'll add my .02 I bought both the '07 Altima Sedan and the '08 3.5SE Altima Coupe.

My wife primarily drives the Sedan and I primarily drive the coupe. We bought the sedan because we have a baby on the way!

Sedan +'s...+Larger trunk for groceries, strollers, luggage, etc.+Still a relatively small car for a sedan (lengthwise), I believe+The 2.5S has all the power the average driver would ever need!+It's a hell of a lot easier to take friends for a ride and carpool!+Love the way it handles, it does NOT feel the same as the coupe. +IMHO, seats are more comfortable+Smaller blind spot than the coupe+Just a heck of a practical all purpose car

Coupe +'s+Nice for dates with the wife+Sportier drive (when you're in the mood for that)

I could name a number of negatives, but they would all be in comparison to the sedan which isn't fair. WHY???? Well because, you obviously lose things like trunk space, interior room, etc. when you go with a coupe vs. a Sedan.

So, which one do I enjoy driving the most... the Coupe, All DAY!!!!But, which one do I feel is more practical, gets better use, is safer, and is necessary when you have a family??? the SEDAN, ALL DAY!!

This entire question depends on personal needs and preferences. It cannot be answered with a simple "sedan" or "coupe" choice. Both are very different. It's like asking which is better: an RV or a stretch limo? If you don't follow up with the question "for what purpose," the question begins to lose merit. I believe that each person has specific needs and has purchased their car based on those needs/personal choices.

I know this thread was ment for just the Sedan Owners to speak up but I have to say I was tired of buying 4 doors when I don't even have a family or kids. When I saw the Coupe on the Internet I liked it. So when I went to see it in person and drive it I had to get it. I'm nearly 60 years old and my wife thinks I look rediculous behind the wheel. But it is too much fun to be sitting in the Driver Seat. It makes my 124 mi. daily commute pleasurable. More so than my Nissan Sentra (4-door) ever did. Over 14,000 mi. now and no problems....
