i was trying to avoid having to rig stuff by RESEARCHING before ordering wheels. if the information was here that any of that would be necessary, i wouldn't have ordered these wheels. i would have ordered the 962's with +35.

but no,,,i was assured these would fit fine. they don't.

that's what the problem is,,,stop asking.

So Evil Inside, you wanted to buy aftermarket wheels that were sunken and silly looking?

the wheels that came with the car when i bought it would still be on there,,,i had less than $900 in the car. one of the wheels got cracked. i couldn't find any decent stock or aftermarket used wheels locally. so i broke down and ordered some. i figured if i was gonna order some, might as well get the widest/lowest offset that everyone says will fit WITHOUT PULLING THE FENDERS.

before anyone tries to push it in another direction since i answered that one, i give up. the wheels are on craigslist. i'm going with some that are close enough to my old wheels that i KNOW FOR MYSELF they will fit without question.

i wanted to be able to DRIVE THE CAR and not have to alter everything AROUND the wheels/tires to do so. if the stock offset is sunken/silly looking to you, so be it.

there's a member here that rents out fender rollers for like $60-80.. I forgot exactly, but that's not that much. Check on the classifieds section. I rented it from him like a year ago for a week. Came complete with everything you need (including heat gun).

but I'm also curious to how you can't fit them. The math doesn't fit.

here's an old pic of my car for comparison:17x9+14 on 225/45 (nearly 20mm closer to the fenders). As you can see, its just a very subtle roll, no pull what so ever

aand this was before I had adjustable RUCAs.

Someone search the video of a Japanese tuner doing fender rolling with a ordinary pipe that was wrapped with a bandana, and a heat gun.

He wrapped the end of the pipe(forgot the size of the pipe he used, sorry) with the bandana that's going to touch the car, heated the area he's going to roll, then stuck the pipe between the tire and heated fender section.

The video might be one NICO. Robert(JDM_masterbater) might have it. I don't youtube car stuff and I had to come across that vid here on NICO. It might be archived by now...

To the op your in the same boat as me. I slightly rolled the fenders but I want to run a wide wheel 9.5-10.5 with a wide tire. Stretched tires dont work for every application. Yeah it does look good, but in some cases you need to get power to the ground. And Negative camber isn't for everyone as well.

But I will be test fitting some 17x9.5 +50's off an MK4. If they are close to fitting I am gonna measure and probably end up with a 17x10 +40's with at least a 275mm tire.

Your should of probably should have gotten a +35, +40 for the rears.

+50 is an awful high offset. i'm going with 962's, 17X9 +35 in the rear, and 17X7 +38 front, of course as soon as i can unload the "other" new wheels. i still have 4-215/45 17's and 2-215/40 that i can run on until i wear them down. can't justify (to myself) wasting even more money on new tires when the tires i have are still good.

in the meantime, i have to find something else to drive to work. thankfully i just finished a headgasket job on a toyota 4runner i bought for $200. just gotta title it and i can drive it while the 240sx is wheel-less.

it's not really that much of a stretch. the 215's were pretty much square on a 7" wheel, now it's only like 1" stretch on each side.

As you notice I said you should have gotten +35 or +40, with that . I said I was test fitting +50's for application for the 10-10.5 range but will end up in the +40's/

Now if you ever plan on making any power or torque I suggest figure out how much more tire you can put under there with your offset / suspension choice. 215's I think I'm wider on my minivan.

like i said, the 215's are temporary, just using them up cause i already had 6 of them. i don't like wasting things. the car is no monster, and is going to be a DD for quite a while, unless i happen across a killer deal on a swap. i'm no SR fanboy, so i'm not dropping $2000+ on that swap, or even an RB swap. IF anything, KADE turbo later, provided i can do it to start for less than $600, then build from there. so the only power and torque i need to worry about is what the KA24DE came with stock (minus the PAIR valve, mech. fan, and EGR crap).
