For the last two nights I have been unable to utilize the search function. I have tried multiple words, wording, recent and archived content etc.

Even "brakes" or "transmission" turns up nothing. Oh the humanity!

Is it dysfunctional or am I?

Its a trainwreck in progress. zerothread/298721

The Google search function seems effective. What I've been doing is keeping all the worthwhile threads in a personal collection, in case I can't find them later.

I'll post them all at some point when I'm not so lazy.

Thanks for the lightening fast reply. I've never had issues with it until now and I thought that perhaps they really were out to get me.

Just trying to do my hause aufgaube before I replace my front brakes. I found Tanglewhats-his-names thread(s) by using "the google on the innernets". This sites built in search ist kaput.

I bought the pads back when I ordered my front end suspension bits. When I had the tires rotated and spun this weekend I noticed that the pads are finally gone.

Tangalora is (or was) Alora Duncan.

If you want a step by step how to, I am sure there are a few posts. If you you want a how best to, why to and when to, then Q45tech is the compulsory read.

Hence the reason for this thread. I could not access ANY of the posts because the search function is down. I followed Jesda's advice and got in to the archives through the back door. Thanks to all.

What was the trouble, oldmako?

For the past few days, it's been acting a bit odd for me, too, but I haven't swept for spyware in awhile, and I figured something was interfering.

I usually run a search by entering terms, choosing the forum, and starting with Archived. Then I back out and click Recent to run another one. But last week, the site wouldn't load after I had backed out - the status bar just read "Done". It would work again if I hit the browser reload button.

I'll run my spysweeper and see if that fixes it.

What was happening to you?

Sometimes you have to use a bigger hammer.

When I did a search of archived posts by Q45tech witt brake in the text body no results were returned. That ain't right.

If nothing else, perhaps we should sticky a searchble Acrobat file of Q45tech's posts?

Try Q45.org.

Wes has very few posts on underplenum as I recall. Others have posted more extensively.

Huh. I just tried that search, Brian, and got the same result - nada. I did it for Recent and it returned some threads - searched for all Q45tech posts in Archived and returned over 1000 threads. Tried rotor - same nada in Archived. Finally tried brake pads and got one thread.

Dunno.

Ok, it's not just you, SUB ZERO - same for me - nada.

I know Matt was doing some housekeeping last week - maybe he screwed something up - it looks like we can't get a search into Archived - I'll ask him.

Same for me but didn't search on pads. Not helping new members especially.

The trouble was that no matter what I entered or how many different ways I tried (recent, archived, different forums, titles vs bodies etc) the engine would find 'nothing'. Not one thread or return.

I have used NICO search plenty in the past 6 months and it has always given me results, so I don't think it's my methodology. The last two nights it has come up with zero no matter the search. Perhaps some facet of my machine is corrupt. Funny thing is it has no trouble finding naked women!!!

I'll try my laptop later and see if it works.
