id like to extend my condolences towards your busted/missing hardware situation. It's what I call the DPO syndrome, standing for Dreaded Previous Owner. The missing nuts on half of the T2 flange means someone didn't know better when they lost or broke the lock tabs and didn't think buying a new set was important. With the kind of heat that gets concentrated right at that flange, even lock washers don't usually help. Frankly i'm amazed someone was able to snap off an exhaust manifold stud like that, though. Logic is trying to tell me you'd ruin the **** out of the aluminum head before you twisted a steel stud in half..

At least what you did needed to get done anyway... and it sounds like hopefully you're down to just trying to find a loose coupler.

I guess I should tell you that It will melt right off. Unless it's rated to 1500 degrees.

So what was the issue? Can oil cause this to happen? T25 is water and oil cooled. I'm having the same problem right now. My turbo gets red hot after full boost and it's not going anywhere.

PROBLEM SOLVED!!! I was running conventional oil since I busted my oil drain tube on the turbo. I needed something quick so I just grabbed two bottle 10-w30 from a gas station. Today, I put Mobile 1 fully synthetic and after 10 miles, the car started to run like a beast.

Ok, My sr20det is making this exact noise right now. It only started yesterday, and a buddy of mine had mentioned a couple weeks earlier that it seemed like my car was "running rich" when I revved it up (to look cool). Can anyone tell me what the problem likely is?
