Score one for the 240's!!

So the other night I raced for the first time at night against another team. I raced this team called Team 5-speed. Well they're much MUCH older than my friends and I. They're in their late 20's and we're all barely 17. Anyway, their wives wouldn't let most of them out, so they sent one guy out, with their 3rd fastest car. It is known around town as the "GSR killer" and is a fully built B16 from the top to bottom. A civic EX vtec fully built for drag racing basically. Anyway, I've got a SR240 set at 10psi with an intake filter, boost gauge and boost controller. Absolutely no other mods than that. So I take him and spank him by 6 or 7 cars by the time I was in third gear.

Later that night while we were hanging out, they call us and apologize for not having the whole team there, but they said that they want us to come out again but next time they'll bring their Turbo Civic SI with $15,000 on the engine alone and their TT supra. So now I'm screwed... but no worries though, my car isn't the fastest of our little group. My cousin's Civic hatchback SI with a Fully built J-spec H22a should be able to take the SI and the supra... maybe... I'll let you guys know what happens.

Nope not yet. They're janky ghetto black with dents and sunspotted paint! It's great, two of the quicker cars in town... both hatchbacks, both black, both J-spec engines, both ugly as hell.

It's not a fully built EX if it has a B16 in it.

That is unless you meant a fully built B16 in an EX.

It's known as the GSR killer? Wow, that guy should set his goals just a tad higher.

i was just thinking the same thing, and ure right about it having to be a fully built b16 in an ex...its too late to see that the first time, lol

Ok I hate to call bs but you gotta have a few more mods than just a air filter, boost gauge, and boost controller. You don't have an exhaust? Why would you set a SR at 10 psi with a stock exhaust. You have the stock SR clutch? Stock fuel pump? Come on you gotta have some more stuff if your beating a built B16 by 7 car lengths. Just elaborate please.

Well yeah, I figured you'd all assume I'd have the basic things that come with the swap... Supra Fuel pump and exhaust... I don't know if it would make that much of a difference. I'm not stupid. It's got a cheap $200 exhaust and the supra fuel pump... Stocker clutch which will be exchanged out for the ACT 3 when I can get my hand on some $$$. Also I think I exaggeratted with the car lengths... by the end of second gear I was about 4 or 5 cars ahead, then by third he had given up and hit the brakes... so 4 or 5 is about right. But yes fully built B16 I believe is what he said.

edit: What I have to worry about now is the TT supra and the Turbo SI coming after me... It'll be quite a race...

good chance that supra will hand you your *** going on some of the SR swaps times on pretty much stock equipment. Thems some bad cars...

dude you better hope his supra is NA or stock. the silvia is my dream car and i love it. but if you pair it up with a single turbo supra...its gonna get a nice big new one. from a stop they're slow sluggish. its when they're on a roll...thats when they're dangerous. when that toad gets moving there are few cars out there that can hang.

well it looks something like this....give me a break guys i could find a picture of one...lol. they dont call them the dyno queens for nothing. for example Mike "the king"...toeser? his car make like 900 whp w/o Nitrous. some of the original members might remember this clown. came on to this site about 1-2 years ago talking **** about nissan and the skyline.

Much love for my Nissan brothers but if that Supra is running a big single nothing short of an F1 car can beat that thing from a roll. I had a T88 on my dawg and with street tires ran high 11's BUT from a roll 60up roll took down an 8 sec Cuda. The dawg pulls like a jet fighter up til 190.

If I had the means, I'd build up a Q45 bottom end, TT the beast mate it the Skyline's ATTESSA and ram the contraption down the hood of an S13. 1,400hp AWD 240sx. Ahhh wishful thinking.

Supra TT 6 spds are pretty fast best of luck. My S14 ran a 13.7 in the quarter so it decently quick. I drove my buddy's 6spd TT Supra with full HKS exhaust and Greddy Boost cut and a few more mods but not many. My car responds much quicker but the top end of the Supra is bad ***. Very quick cars.

the only car i can think of that might spank a supra single turbo is a Hybrid Z. i not talking about the new 350 but the old 240-280z's. there's a guy named Ron Jones i think that has a twin-turbo big block.....GOD! i can't remember the name of the engine but i remember the deplacement was like 7.0. and on street slicks he pulls 8's. 0-60 was like 1-2 sec's and at idle his car makes like 600 pounds of torque.

they kinda neat, but me personally, I cant bring myself to have a different manufacturer's motor in my car, just seems wrong to me...

on a side note, this guy my uncle knew was planning on putting a 327 my uncle swapped him for a motorcycle into a 280zx, sure to be a beast of a car, the Camaro and Vega wagon he had the motor in before were badass...

I remember getting held back in the seat hard in the Wagon, funny car, it was even Corvette yellow...

so what if u losek, he's got way more money under the hood, if you're going to put money down, aleast make it afair race, and you might have a shot against that civic from a stpo. FWD kills em from stops, and remember keep it at the track

It's a privately owned road by my cousins so technically it's not illegal. But, I will most likely lose to the Supra and the Turbo SI, but oh well, they are waaaay older and have much much more money than me.

Mine the 2nd fasest. The only other car faster is a H22 powered hatchback. Fully built. Run's 13.1 on donuts.
