he's spent $10k and nearly 8 months of work getting this thing together. He's only 185/60/15. in a few weeks it'll be 215/5016 all around.

You're probably right. But I don't know what you're talking about. I'm just pointing out that they're black rims on black tires. Thus blackies.

hA! 215's won't keep my tires from spinning either. I'm looking at 225's at the smallest.

FWD. haha, I remember when I had that. My 240 is so easy to launch at the track, rev to 5k and it pulls good 60's all day long.

yeah i was thinking that too when you said doughnuts. By the way, if this "team-5speed" is so bad *** how come how come their name is so gay?? and an even better question...if that TT supra is so "fast" how come he doesn't kick it with his "car club"

here's the final and most confusing question; why is the fastest car in "team-5-speed" a 6-speed???

I think you just answered the question about why he doesn't hang with them on your last question, they sound like a bunch a wankers anyhow.

I'm not hating on autos, I just wanna know how many of these team 5 speed cars are autos

I think autos are cool for daily drivers and in some cases, drag cars

Hell with a powerglide get yourself the ford 2 speed auto. Not that I have a reason for saying this but felt like I should.

indeed it is, but we had this sweet 64 mercury comet calinte w/ hipo 289 and a 2 speed. It was very nice. Loudest damn car I have ever driven. So I felt like giving the ford 2 speed some props.

I didn't even know ford had a 2 speed, but I was a GM man in my earlier days. Not to dis ford, GM was just cheaper and more available to me at the time. Thank god I expanded my horizons!

Well this car was so damn sweet. I kid you not same room on the interior as a s13, but was at least 4 feet longer. That was all trunk Could fit at least 8 dead bodies in it. I really wish I had bout the car from my parents. They wanted 1500 for it and the Calinte is really rare. Had a four barrel that pumped all four barrels all the time. Gas beast it was. Just ask mr1der how freakin' loud it was. Would have put any jacked up truck to shame.

Edit: found this exploded view of the ford 2 speed. http://raceabilene.com/kelly/h...p.gif

yeah, I think gas back then was less than $.25, obviously not a factor when designing a lot of the cars back then. Sounds like it was a lot of fun. I bet it would be worth some money now.:icon18

are the 2spd transmission's used because of less shifting? i mean i see how that would save time. But wouldnt the ratio's be pretty far apart for drag racing?

Yes, but these were big displacement cars with *** loads of torque, so they didn't need all those extra gears.:naughty
