Sunshine is awesome!
Also for the enjoying:
Let the right one in (swedish sub-titles) It's a little slower and calmer than some are used to, but the story is really really good.
The Strangers
Any David Lynch movie will F with your head, not really horror in the classic sense, but definitely creepy: Mulholland Drive, Lost Highway, Blue Velvet, Eraserhead.

Has anyone ever heard of The Poughkeepsie Tapes?

Its a pretty sick (as in disgusting) concept but I thought it was fairly well done.

The whole thing is on YouTube!

NO, NO, NO, BAD!!!! I was recommended to watch Eraserhead because it was good. That has got to be the biggest, stinkiest, nuttiest pile of S*** Ive ever seen! Makes no sense to anything what so ever. It was the biggest waste of 2 hours that I want back dammit. Kill me, kill me now!

^ Havent seen most of those but Piranha :squint: I suppose Snakes on a Plane gave you nightmares too.

Rob Zombies movies are a bit bloody but House of 1000 corpses was good. I think the prequal to Holloween he made from when Michael Myers was a kid was a real mind f*** (unlike David Lynch). it was disturbing but really good plot and acting, and very well made I thought. I recommend.

Classics are best, IMO. I have seen Halloween 100 times and it still gives me the creeps. same with The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. :couch

Mirrors was cool. Amy Smart had a nasty scene where she pulls off her lower jaw...

Fire in the Sky still freaks me out...The 4th Kind was OK

Not scary, but I love the final destination movies. The last one is so out there, but some cool death scenes.

Disagree with the direction with Event Horizon...they should have not turned it into a horror movie imo, but I still liked it.

Hostil had some good parts too.

Finished the Last Exorcism last night, I loved the concept but the ending left me feeling empty. Wasn't the best ending at all.

Great recommendations here!

Event Horizon is one of my all time favorite movies, and I don't usually like horror movies. I even named my Dreadnaught "Event Horizon" in EVE online. :gapteeth:

Oh yeah Mirrors scared the crap out of me. I was scared to look in one for like a week. The jaw part looked extra real and left a permanent dark hole of fear in my mind.

Drag me to Hell... meh, not bad

Watched "The Orphan" last night, and it was creepy as s***. Infinitely better than my expectations. I also just got High Tension and will probably watch that tonight. Should be fun.

I quite enjoyed The Orphan (and was surprised at the quality, TBQH). Something about that particular brand of suspense always gets me more than gratuitous violence (which just leaves me feeling queasy and sortof morose). Hostel was a great example of a movie that could have been scary if it wasn't for all the gore.

Blood and guts is to a horror movie what bondo is to a car.

Kewl! Yeah, I had super low expectations of The Orphan, so I was surprised!

HT is WAY more gorey, but it can be a heart pounder!
