Can you be more specific as to what you want the scanner to accomplish.

Here are some examples, namely the last two, http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb...&y=14

I would stay away from E-Mance, I bought a Consult cable and it only works with one ECU (1994 Q45 Cali).

Plus he claimed to have made software that he did not infact create.

My partner and I are actually contemplating making our own USB Consult cable, and tinkering with writing our own software tool to read the codes. He's a programmer, and I'm nosy as hell so I want to know all this stuff. If we do that, we'll probably see about releasing some software.

Be nice to just buy a cable, but the prices are a bit high with all the money I've been putting into my Jeep in the last few weeks. Summer in the high desert, Jeeps are a dangerous money sink.

If you decide to write the software please consider the Active suspension. No one has that done that yet, you would be the first.

That'd be pretty difficult without having a Q45a handy to test with. But if we do write anything, it'll be written and designed ground-up to handle the Q45 instead of being something generic or Z32 oriented. I even found the font that Infiniti used on our dashboards.

The odds of writing something are fairly slim in all honesty, at least until we buckle up and get a cable to start playing with. What I'd love to do though, would be to find a way to patch from the CONSULT port into Bluetooth, so we could write something for the iPhone. I can't imagine a better way to monitor things, than to have a passenger using a wireless link into the system while you're on the road.
