I don't know much about their electricals and such, but I think an awesome cheap turbo would be the 99-up powerstroke ford diesel turbos with .84 A/R turbines and 1.10 compressors. They flow 615cfm which works out to 570hp. On 5.0 mustangs they hit full boost a bit before 3000rpm, I'd think the Q would be coming on boost by 27-2800 and full by 3500. I believe the internal stock wastegate is set to open at 6psi on these but that could always be increased with a bleed valve. The only thing I'm leery of for the Q is 10.5:1 compression. I wouldn't want to push more than about 8psi even with an intercooler on pump gas. I'd think headers wouldn't be too tough, I'm sure there's someone on the Turbomustangs.com forum that could build a good set.

Nice Info Thanks... Umm Well there is a guy with the Q motor Twin turbo. Yes with the stock bottom end. I don't remember but i think i read something about how his friend was saying it runs 11's with major traction problems. I can ask the shop down the street on how the turbo whould work out for the Q. ever heard of Titan Motorsports?

This is a very nice thread! I would love more information on the JUN ecu.

I recall Sopdapope talking about doing a single large turbo for the Q last year.

Ha Ha Ha.... Yup That's the Turbo Q with the T88.. A Turbo Q is going to be my Goal. The Bottom end of the Motor itself is to be claimed as a Race prep. Motor. As fasr as Jun Goes... It Does really give too much info but i sure do love Jun products.. Jun for Honda/Acura can get the B Serie Motors revvin up to 9800RPM + With power going all the way through... There is always a Company called Mine's that makes a Chip for the Q..... PHEW you gotta watch their Skyline vid with the stock turbo and LIL. Mods so the motor. WOW that car is insane! Both Mine's and Jun are Very well known companies.

Lemme go Pic on the Pops from work.... Geez there's something wrong witht he Q too but i don't know what it is... Same prob that i had with the other motor Too. Like the sound of a car with no oil. Sounds to me like it's the Cam shafts hitting metal.. Well Yeah.. If anyone reads this please help me out... Oh btw the oil level in the car is perfectly fine... I didn't rev the motor at all or even drive pass 50 Mph.

This has been a very interesting read. I'm sure someone will finally do this set-up right. As Scott mentioned though, dealing with the Q's 10.5:1 CR is one very serious obstacle as well as the VVT issues above 3K. It seems if 8psi or so is the maximum safe boost, a T88 would be dumping boost a good part of the time your foot was really into it. Again if +/- 8psi is the limiting factor, an SC would do the same time for less $$$. A set of lower compression JE pistons would allow a single turbo to work it's magic through a much wider power band and reduce the chances of spewing those well engineered Q parts everytime they reformulate our gas. If someone has really come up with a streetable single or twin turbo set-up I'd love to see what mechanical mods were needed. We all know that the VH is hell bent for stout but there are still limits that can't be ignored using the stock mechanical components. Maybe Wes would like to volunteer the Beta car! Sorry to sound like the Prophet of Doom here but I know first hand the results of toasting a good motor or two, or was it three?

They can buy race gas over there at the pump, it's just not right !I think they watched Mad Max too many times.

Yea... It's a dream..

I'll probably end up going with the supercharger

Only thing we need to figure out with that, is an intercooler setup..

Everything else is taken care of, including the ECU. I want power, not waiting...

Supercharged VH45de would be awesome.. Like my friends xjr, but with more high end pull

Alright... well As for Hooking peeps up with Products... ever heard of http://www.Q45Racing.com that's my dad's site.. I think it's down right now but you can get to it by going to http://www.Q45Racing.Bizland.com We can get anything your little heart desires :)

Yeah that's on crazy pic of the Twin Turbo Q Motor seen it before. The Guy said it's still with the STOCK bottom end. One of his friends quoted that he said the bottom end of the Vh45De is already a raced prep motor with no needs to modify it. If i'm right he also runs low 11's i think with traction problems like no other.

Race Gas... Back at Cali there were gas stations who sold racing fuel at pumps and by Gallons..

Well i did a Yahoo search in japan and there's things about Products made by APEXi and HKS for the Q. Apexi make a AFC(Air Fuel Cont.) unit and something else i don't remember right off hand..and hks i forgot too. LOL SOrry guys
