Put down? Are you going to blow it up? :gapteeth:

I love the Maxima (my favorite generation is the 95-99), they're freakin' bulletproof cars and have always had the best V6s around.

I'm a fan of 89-94. My '90 didn't have injector issues until a few months after it was exposed to midwest ethanol-heavy gas (sometimes I wonder if our E10 is really E15). Very annoying to replace them since, like the Q, the plenum has to come off.

I did become quite skilled at yanking the plenum on the Maxima and Q45, however. I could replace an injector in just 45 minutes if I was really eager to finish up and get out of the heat and humidity.

I owned my 1990 Maxima at the same time that I owned a 1990 BMW 525i. The BMW had better build quality and much more refinement, but the Maxima was more fun to wring the power out of (VG30 FTW!), had less body roll, more steering feel, and a lighter clutch. 4DSC was a completely valid and accurate label. I sold my Maxima because of the hassle and red tape involved with registering rebuilt/salvaged cars in Missouri. If I bought another, it would probably be an A33/5th gen. Too many of the J30/3rd gens remaining have been beaten to within an inch of their lives.

I think the 4th generation is supposedly the most reliable.

I love the body styling on these. They are seriously tanks. A buddy I've known had one till 330,000. Leaking oil and coolant, and not a rod knock in sight. But shortly after the motor blew so.

Yay Third Gens!

I have always loved the 3rd gens styling, still one of the best looking Maxima styles, just never looks old to me. I've had an A32 that had 220k it when I traded it for a Z32(which was a terrible mistake, the Z was a basket case) and it was still rock solid then. I prefer the A33 overall though, but I'm a bit partial since I own one, mine has 145k on it and still is a blast to drive. Anything past a 5.5 gen though I have no interest in honestly, the Maxima pretty much died to me after then.
