The SHO has ALWAYS been called the "show" internally at Ford.hannibal wrote:Why is Ford calling it the Taurus SHO (show) instead of S-H-O?? That really disturbs me.
Zing! Good one!breadbox wrote:could be 1/2hp if they are quarter horses.
Ahahahaahaha. That's almost as good as the chart saw with 5 quadrants.breadbox wrote:could be 1/2hp if they are quarter horses.
NO! NO FREAKING AWD! Ford's AWD is pointless and just ends up adding lots of weight and complexity. Leave the damn rear wheels alone and just work on making the thing fun to drive. If Honda and Nissan can make fun front-drivers, so can Ford. FWD is fine. This modern on-demand AWD that's really just FWD 90% of the time is a huge waste. Either give me power to all 4 all the time, or pick one end and make the most of it.HashiriyaS14 wrote:I want to see a Fusion SHO, something very similar to a Mazdaspeed 6. 350hp, 6-speed, AWD...
I agree. Given the choice of FWD or AWD, I'd go with FWD. Personally I'd prefer Ford to do a RWD Fusion SHO and have the boys at SVT or Rousch tweak the suspension to make it a more fun handler, but I don't forsee Ford or Rousch spending development dollars that way.MinisterofDOOM wrote:

The AWD Fusion weighs as much as SIX HUNDRED POUNDS MORE than the FWD version. Unless that's some seriously badass AWD like ATTESA-ETS (and we know it is NOT) that weight increase is not worth it.
A 3200lb 350hp front driver is much more appealing to me than a 3800lb 350hp AWDer.
best post yet i think. its a taurus not a mustang. i like it. one of the new cars i actually dont mind. i just want to see interior pictures. havnt seen any yet. that will determin if its ehh ok or a good car in my oppinion.AZ89two4Tsx wrote:Do you expect a car targeted at old people and ho hum families to be 100% performance oriented? Were you expecting a Taurus GT3 where it's built for time attack?!? Some of you are being WAY to critical about the ultimate car for a person that says "I don't care."
Remember what a Ford Taurus used to be? At least they made progress this generation by not making me queasy when I look at it.
I can forgive you for this post since you're only 16 and not old enough to remember the SHO that is the reason those three letters mean anything at all worth remembering.AZ89two4Tsx wrote:Do you expect a car targeted at old people and ho hum families to be 100% performance oriented? I haven't driven one, but I'd like to. I don't really dislike the car aside from the fact that it had the potential in those 3 letters to be something greater but didn't reach it, and the fact that it is twice as tall as my big luxury sedan.SmithSR wrote:I read these posts with great interest. I also agree with much of what MOD said but not all. I rented a Taurus badged 500 and was thoroughly unimpressed. Cheapie interior, spongy ride, but roomy. I will reserve judgement on the new SHO's driving experience until I get behind the wheel of one. But I stand by my opinion that that car looks too tall and Ford should have gone smaller. The new model is approaching the size/mass of a Crown Vic/ GranMarquis, of which I have owned several . That's bit too big for my taste in a sporty sedan.Jesda wrote:The original SHO is definitely a car I would seek out and buy, especially with a manual in Cone-Bone green. I got to drive one around last year and developed a great deal of affection for it.
The interior is crude and the buttons feel cheap, but everything inside is actually quite durable. The ride is comfortable, handling is reasonable, styling is well-proportioned and clean, and that engine... wow.
If one came my way I'd treasure it. I agree with MOD on a few major points, especially regarding purpose and size, but the new SHO is gorgeous.
does Ford offer a "spikey wheel thingies" option?duffman1278 wrote:I support Ford, mostly because I own shares in the company but regardless. Who doesn't want a silent 350HP car is the real question.
The roman's once raced with horses, might I add no dynamat in those, and not so much power.
