Yeah, all the cars in the movie were actually quite slow, some even slower than stock. I don't understand how you can make a car slower than stock, but they managed it. Here are the times as reported in the July 2003 issue of Sport Compact Car. 1993 Toyota Supra - 14.5@90mph. 1999 Skyline GT-R R34 -14.1@101mph, car was changed to RWD. 2002 Mitsubishi Evo VII (Yes VII and not the VIII they are selling in the US) - 15.3@88mph. (Stock they run 13.4@103) 1993 Mazda RX-7 - [email protected]. 2000 Honda S2000 - [email protected]. 1969 Yenko Camaro (duplicate, not a real Yenko) [email protected].

Everyone should read that SCC aritcle, especially all of the 'street racers' that believe the cars in that movie run 10s and 11s. Around here, the kids think the ****s real. I would personnaly have few people inthis county know what the Skyline is then many knowing this riced out (yes, if it has all that body kit and neon ****, and runs slower then stock with 2wd, its a riced Skyline) car.

Although, the first movie did let everyone know what an SR is. So if I ever mention it, they're all like, SR SR SR.... wow, you'd run 12s.

Oh yeah, and yes, I will probably go see it... Think it was a pretty good way to waste and hour and a half, and go home knowing half the theater thought it was real and will try starting races in the parking lot. (If it goes anyway like the first one)

:Werd I was talking to some of my friends about that article at a local Blockbuster and some kid came out of the blue and said "You know all those cars aren't slow don't you?" I told him I knew that in THE REAL WORLD those cars are usually fast but the producers and technicians in 2F2F somehow made them slow. Oh well.

Ill probably go see it out of curiosity, but im not expecting much, everything is just shinier really.(judging by the commercials)i hope this is the last one especially now that they've put the beloved skyline in it, and are actually racing it in this one. i just want the mainstream of people to keep flocking to honda. It'll suck if people start talking about skylines like they did Supras after the first one. I like to think that japanese drivers sit back and laugh while watching it.

word. im finally a JWT popcharger

I think the movie is a shame. It tries to represent the culture or lyfestyle of imports and street racing but pulls none of it off. but whatever, hopefully it will be so over the top that (normal) people won't actually think that those into the import scene are really like that.

and another thing. I am so sick of people saying "the cars in that movie are slower than stock even". That is such a stupid thing to criticise. The featured cars were bought and made to appear the way they wanted them to look. I don't think any of them were previously modded (correct me if I'm wrong). So it would be stupid for the producers to take a stock Evo, install intake/header/exhaust, beef up the internals, install naws or whatever cuz it would be a waste of money. They know all everyone will look at will be the outside. so they just took the stock car, put a bodykit on it, painted it, added an unseen rollcage prolly to protect the actors reinforced the frame or whatever, and dumped all kinds of stickers on it; all of which just adds weight. So now you have a stock motor powering a much heavier than stock car. thats why they are so slow. on film it doesn't matter how fast they actually go cuz they can use tricks for that, they just have to look fast.

The Supra did have an upgraded turbo. And I don't think stickers weigh that much, the reason they're slow is becasue they have had the piss drove out of 'em and no one took care of them.

I think what Eklectrick was saying is that its not the stickers but the body kits and extras... it seemed by the paragraph that he was saying stickers but I believe he meant the body kits etc...

I will most likely check out the movie and buy it on DVD.Even though I dont think what they did to those cars is the right thing to do in my mind.I know that they had to play their part in the movie too.I hoping if we keep going to see these types of movies(Gone in 60 sec-F n F-2F N 2F-ect...)They will keep making more of them.I'd guess that they posted slower than stock times due to two things.1)they may have been ragged out a bit during filming.2)you have to look at who was driving them in the test.

I edited it so the sentence makes a little more sense when you read it, but you are right, I was more refering to everything they did, not just the stickers.

As was previously stated the Supra had a GReddy T-88 and a GReddy Power Extreme Exhaust. The Skyline had a K&N Ram Air system, HKS Titanium exhaust, and a Turbonetic Intercooler. The EVO was stock. The RX-7 was stock. The S2000 had a Comptech supercharger system with Paxton Novi 1000. And finally the Camaro had some headers and a Flowmaster exhaust. So in response to your quote: [quote=" Eklectrick and another thing. I am so sick of people saying "the cars in that movie are slower than stock even". That is such a stupid thing to criticise. The featured cars were bought and made to appear the way they wanted them to look. 10-4. I'm not good at reading details. still, the fact that the cars are slow, whatever the reason, shoudn't make a difference cuz the cars don't need to be fast to film a movie. if they say such and such a car is a 10 second car in the movie it doesn't matter if it actually runs 13.5 in real life. most of the driving/racing scenes are faked anyways. I'll shut up now.

You realize that when you go see 2F2F, when a particular scene starts, you know how it's gonna end. All that I've seen in the previews are scene endings. The storage garage scene, Mustang chase scene, etc, etc, etc. It's not gonna be suprising at all!

Oh well, I'm gonna go see it anyway.

slw240sx-I have been into skyline long since any f&f movie or superstreet mag advertised it. The skyline has been made for many years they date back to the late sixties. I am into anything nissan/ datsun and so should you if you are driving a 240sx. And Nissan's best engine's made were in the Skylines. The Skyline is like the flagship to Nissan and if you are a big Nissan lover then you would understand what the Skyline is to a true Nissan follower. Nissan has made the best sports cars around for many many years, such as the 240z, 280z, 300zx, 240sx, 350z, and the Skyline, all these cars in my perspective are some of the best cars ever made for their time. Look how advanced Nissan was back in the day, the engines, electronics, etc... for a fact the ca18de and det engine was the first car ever made with individual coil packs. How many other companies do you know that created a two liter inline six engine? Nissan's are capable of crazy horsepower with a little tweaking. If japan didnt have a limit on how much horsepower a car could have then the cars would be maxed out having insane amount of hp for a stock car. I am just trying to say dont hate on me because I like Skylines, dont being driving any Nissan if you dont have respect for their cars.

I am sorry krazyscrewell the 260z also was a great sports car. The Z's are also a big flagship to Nissan, but in my perspective the Skyline was the best Nissan off the porduction line. Nissan hasnt made too many cars that werent great.

I saw the movie last night, and i hate to admit it, but i thought it was much better than the first one. But then again, maybe its because i went in with such low expectations.

I seen the movie last night also, I think it was pretty good. It didnt have much to do with street racing that was good, it was cool having Ludacris and tyrese is the movie as they both are great rap artists. I dont think the stunts looked that fake, the storage building scene was cool. Overall I think they did a better job this time.

I thought it was ok. My favorite cars (skyline and s2000) of the movie were shown very little which was disapointing but they cant appeal to everyone. And for the people at the begining of the thread i thought the sky line was made to look somewhat inferior to the supra considering it couldnt get by it until his hit the n2o and flew over him. THe battle of who has the bigger shot.
