Greg I will send you cash money for stripped out Tomei exhaust cam. Right now. Holla at me. Yay not running a CAS.

I also know you have like 200 sets of them. If you care to part with it, let me know what you want.

Also, I'll trade you my s15 spec R for your 2871. Straight up, because I'm cool like that.

LOL if this turbo lags to much for my liking I may have to take you up on that offer, but I think I'll be aright. You got a spec R?

as for the cam, yes it was brand new.

and as for selling the cam, Im going to try to put it in the oven, and pull that spline outta there and bang in another one from a stock cam. I highly doubt the spline and half moon are part of the cam, it has to be pressed in afterwards.

but Phil (meangreen) is in line before you to get his filthy paws on that bumpstick

ok, so off topic.

ythe engine bay is gorgeous, and is setup exactly how im wanting to do mine.

i was wondering, how did you mount the radiator? like bracing wise. and how did you mount the i/c? what i/c did you use?

thats what i want to do very badly.

also, on your other pics, is that a catch can drain line going into the turbo drain line? thats a great idea

thanks man i appriciate it

if you would like to email me so we could go into detail, thats fine as well and would be greatly appriciated.

[email protected]

thanks, Kemp

the intercooler is held in by a tab I welded to the lower radiator support and the pipes tie the top half in.

its a custom griffen intercooler, but I dont suggest leaning it back like I did. It cools fine, but it eats up alot of space in the front of the bay.

the way the guys do it in the UK is mint using SAAB intercoolers with the endtanks oriented out the sides and facing back. midmount FTW, I would just set it up so everything is vertical, not at an angle, and the charge pipes would come around the side of the radiator, not over the top.

If you need some pics lmk!

p.s. yea that -8 AN on the uber braced oil drain is for the catch.

you can see a 60* -8 on the bottom of the can in one pic, but not where it goes....that is where it leads to.

Just noticed you got all of those EGT probes mounted. Hows that working out for you? I remember looking at your sweet aircraft EGT gauge setup right before I blacked out.

After we left your place that afternoon, we stopped at that Mobil station by the roundabout so I could get a drink, and my friends made me go in and buy it. I was like, dude, I almost ate it back there, are you really going to make me walk in there and purchase my own damn drink?! Yep, that's exactly what they did. I even had to drive back from Boston that night because they were too tired. Great friends I have.

LOL awsomeness.

I already see a slight variance between cylinders at idle, cant wait to load it and see how far they vary.

3 and 4 are hotter than 1 and 2.

Is it the spec-R turbo you have damnit?

Yeah, yeah the Spec R. .60AR T3 super 60 compressor wheel, .64AR 62 trim turbine. If you do decide you want it in the future, I will trade you my turbo + cash for the 2871.

DALAZ, FRSport has it for $710, just so you know I was not kidding around.

they are only good for stage 2 in the U.K I think?

hop on sxoc.com and see what they have to say about them.

there are similar setup entank designs on some nice tube and fin intercoolers on ebay that you could check out and size up against the radiator you plan on using.

The intercooler my co-worker has on his Saab 93 would be perfect for a V-mount setup.

used turbos, inherent dangahs!

FRsport provides you with the plug and play hotness.

It arrives, and you install it. Not spend a week chasing/making inlets, and oil drains etc etc...like I did after recieving my bare spec-R.

hence the 1200.00 price tag.

comes with nissan locking tabs plate for the T2 flange as well, that thing is awsome and you cannot go wrong installing one. It will make your life easier later down the road when your turbo never comes lose.

and to top it off earls turbo lines, and ALL nissan gaskets.

totally worth the asking price anyday....add everything included up.

Let it be known, all you need to install the GT28R on a stock CA18 is: two (2) manifold to turbo gaskets and the flange for the front so you can clamp the stock inlet to it. Re-use the stock compressor outlet elbow (it fits), o2 housing, and oil and coolant lines (with a little careful bending with a torch). Sure buying all that stuff makes it prettier, but it also makes it cost $500 more. For $1200 I could install a gt28r and an 80hp shot of nitrous and smoke your $1200 turbo package.

ks13 - yeah, i figured, but i was asking and well...next time ill still to my guns i guess...and not listen to r34 gtr wihtout making him swear to god...lol

r34 gtr - yeah i figured that much, but since the car is gonna get a new elbow i needed more than 2 gaskets, mind you im not gonna reuse my manifold gasket or rear housing gasket or my elbow gasket, i also wanted to change out the studs while i was at it, the motor is on the car, and i want to remove the whole manifold and do the work out of the car, then reinstall everything clean...

sorry for tryin to keep my motor running properly

on the real though, i think the turbo i bought is blah due to sipping...the rear housing fins seem to scrap a bit against the walls...i dont think i want it doing that during boost...

Pretty sweet setup ya got there. I see all sorts of cool additions. I like the gold reflective heat foil everywhere lol! Looks like it's in all the right spots. The way you mounted the ic/and rad is awesome! Idk if you have the vented hood or not but it would be perfect for that setup with where the ic pipes are! Boost response must be great because there aren't all sorts of crazy bends and the pipes are really short. You should look at getting some okada project direct plazma ignition coils:) (i don't really care about all the fancy terms, but I hear they work pretty good, and lower heat then ours! so no cracking) It looks like it' s a really purpose built build for pretty much kicking some @$$!!!! Good job!

splitfires dont really aid anything when the motor only revs to 2000rpm though fibber!

okada project direct plazma ignition coils.....good looks, never heard of those will have to check it out.

Phil, I'll trade you my cam for your coils plus 100.00 on my end.
