Getting back to the topic of the thread, another reason why the S2000 isn't drifted much is because it doesn't really transisition to oversteer gracefully . . . it has great balance and poise, but once you push it a little too much, it will come out on you in a way I've only seen/heard of in MR cars before. Easier to control than a MR car when it happens, but it is sudden and quick, and just isn't as graceful as it would be in a lesser car like the 240.

I have to add that I spent this past weekend driving a S2000, top down, singing to a 9,000 RPM redline with a great engine, transmission, and suspension, so I might be a little biased, and a little upset about the return to the 240. ;-)

The S2K now has a 2.2L F-series engine. More torque, sooner.

Though not a whole lot sooner, with the peak torque still arriving above 7,000 RPMs, IIRC . . . plus, the new wheels look so much worse. ;-)

THAT'S right. . my bad. I stand corrected.so is "FM" an accepted configuration? Or would some manufacturers consider it a mid?

A little off topic, but a shop nearby just dropped an s2000 engine in his s13 coupe. My friend built the subframe. It's pretty cool!

I'd like to have a ride in that car, heh. I was actually thinking about that the other day . . . how did they do that swap? Did they use the S2000 transmission and use a custom driveshaft, or the KA transmission with a custom bellhousing, etc?

I doubt the S2000 ECU would work for a S13, so did they do an aftermarket ECU? That must be one hell of a car man . . . get us some info, I'd love to hear more.

All Honda drivetrain, ECU, etc except the differential. I will post up a pic if I can get one in the next few days. It's not running yet, but it's soooo close.

Wow, sounds like a mean machine. If I were to try the same, I think my dad might get a little suspicious when he gets to 6,000 RPMs and finds a redline instead of a burst of power. ;-)

With RX-7's, they're supposedly a decent drift car, both the FC and FD's . . . in a recent SCC, they had a few FD's built up, and were doing some nice drifting, though I'm not a fan of that.
