I know for sure that all of the Motorex cars are being impounded and crushed.s13-t wrote:as far as I know they can be state legal and insured but federally illegal. they are. because they Motorex said that they had done the "legalization" to the cars but they actually didnt do anything.ILoveMyRHS13 wrote:I know for sure that all of the Motorex cars are being impounded and crushed.
I thought they got the r33's approved since that's what they had the crash testing and such done on. If they didn't do something to all the r33's they sold one would think the owner would get some sort of fix it ticket.xX RB Xx wrote:

they were suppose to crash test all year skylines, and they did at first but then realized they were wasting too much money on wrecking perfectly good cars.Veriest1 wrote:

As far as I know, there is no way to make an S15 federally 50 state legal.Shusaka wrote:so...is the S15 legal or if not is there a way to make it federally legit?
spoken like a true zilvian e-thug.nice try, though. I just wanted to know if they were legal, I don't have any interest in buying now (nor would I ever).duffman1278 wrote:OP stop wasting you're time. You more than likely do not have the money or else you would be smart enough to search a topic like this, and then you would find out what needs to be done and what is legal and what is not. Continue living your fantasy

what false information is in the thread that hasn't been corrected?isn't that what a discussion is about? learning?read through the thread again and you'll see I'm not the only one that had questions about legalizing an S15.jessetang wrote:S15 are illegal in US, period. Just because you can get one registered, it does not mean it is legal. Its like stealing is illegal, but if you do not get caught, you will not be in trouble.
The R34 can be Federal Legal, but it is supposedly only driven for 2500miles a year, because it is legal as a show car.
This has been covered more than enough , over and over again so just stop asking.
And this is not turning into a good discussion, as it has too much false information.
The US government cannot crush all the Motorex cars because some of them are did actually received all the work needed to make them federal legal.
And you can still legalize a R33 GTR and GTS by Registered Importer.
Modified by fess13 at 12:38 AM 2/1/2010wrote:"In determining whether a vehicle is eligible for importation for show or display, NHTSA will consider the following factors, among others:
-Whether a vehicle of the same make, model, and model year was manufactured and certified for sale in the United States.-Whether a vehicle of the same make, model, and model year has been determined eligible for importation pursuant to 49 CFR Part 593.-Whether the vehicle is currently in production.-Whether more than 500 of the vehicles were produced.-Whether the vehicle is a kit car, replica, or special construction vehicle.
If the answer to any of the above is affirmative, you should not expect NHTSA to grant permission for importation. If the answer to item 4 is affirmative, the applicant must establish that the vehicle is of exceptional technological and/or historical significance.
-Technological significance - You must identify (be specific) the technology, engineering, and construction features of the vehicle that are advanced and of an unusual nature not commonly found in motor vehicles manufactured in the same time period;
-Historical significance - You must identify the historical significance of the vehicle. If a person of historical significance owned the vehicle, you must submit proof that this person owned the vehicle. If the vehicle was the first or last vehicle of a particular model, you must establish this through the manufacturer's documentation or, if this is not available, through a recognized historical source. If the vehicle was "one of a kind," you must establish this also.
False. Again, registered does not mean it is street legal. It only means the lady in DMV knows nothing about the car that is being registered.xX RB Xx wrote:not a dd but it is registered and is street legal.
Insurance on a car has nothing to do with how legal a car is. It cannot be state legal but federal legal. If you go to school, you cannot really have a law in a state that violate a federal law, although it actually happens.s13-t wrote:as far as I know they can be state legal and insured but federally illegal. They were supposed to crash test all the Skylines so that all of them could be federal legal. However, at the minimum, you cannot legalize a R32, as it has no airbag.xX RB Xx wrote:

and i forget the exact reason why R33 are determinded legal. here is the website to the NHTSA.

dont worry it seems like no matter what someone posts when duffman1278 responds to things its almost always negative. if he does not approve then its wrong all the way. im used to reading his negative postings like he will respond negative to this one as well. watch for it lolfess13 wrote:you came in acting like an ***hole after every topic in the thread had already been discussed. if you wanted to look like a coolguy playing the "search" card, you should have made the 1st reply. nobody else had a problem with this topic being discussed.
