The gauge cluster (i believe your calling hub) is out of the S15 model. It's the stock cluster. Hope that's what you are wanting to know.

sorry, but looks kind of cheesy to me. very car show-esque. might look a little better if you painted the silver part on the gauge cluster black or somthing. also ditch the autometer a/f lightshow gauge. trade in that oil gauge for a 3/4 sweep. and clock them. finally, that is a big *** steering wheel. also your gonna have crazy glare if some sun gets past the cowl.

sorry, not feeling it.

I like it, looks great. I am wanting to make a custom bezel for my S14 by just putting 2 gauges in my bezel trim (instead of 4 like yours). What material did you use to make yours.. i.e. fiberglass?

Believe me, there is no glare with tinted windows (chmercer), and truthfully, as far as I have seen, it's the only one like it. Why does some one want guages all up the side pillar like a bunch of people, instead of straight in front of you? Don't be mad becuase you can't build one. And yes, it's made out of fiberglass. On another note, it's not all just show, there is alot of go behind it.

LOL.. How did I know you were gonna post back. In my opinion I hate the pillar gauges.

Oooooh That engine bay is CLEAN! Snap!

I guess (chmercer) has never heard of that old saying "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all!

WTF? it's a fine piece, but why get pissy for some criticism? Chmecer stated his opinion of what he dislikes about it... get used to it, it's the internet, and if you can't listen to advice (whether you agree or disagree) you are not going to get better at what you do. Don't expect everyone to rub your balls for everything you make. There's a few points I forgot to add:

The fiberglass trim does not sit flush w/the dash (by looking at side shot)

The steeringwheel will block the gauges when turning even if they are in front of you (this also depends on peoples own eye view {tall/short})

I, like chmecer dislike the polished look (hence the showesque comment). I'd get it covered w/some padding material (butyl rubber or silicone) and matching color faux leather or alcantara.

It still looks like a gap on top of the gauges to me. It may not be, but from the shot, that's how it looks.

And yes, I'm sure I could pull it off. I'm double majoring in mechanical engineering and studio drawing, w/a minor in sculpture. Fiberglass takes dedication but not much talent (aside from visualizing the piece).

Chmecer's paintjob is not my favorite either.

Couple of key points to read here- why get pissy for some criticism- I don't mind constructive criticism, but for some one wanting to paint an S15 gauge cluster? Come on, think about, that would be retarted. I might as well spray paint in flexstone or maybe cover it in leopard skin. Also, do mean to tell me that you look at your guages when you are taking a corner. Shouldn't you be looking at the road in front of you? Just because you have a double bla bla, that makes you a smart guy, but are you really smart? Hey, it's the internet, of course people are going to critisize right?

intelligence has nothing to do w/knowing how to work fiberglass. But if you must know, yes I got full trip scholarship and graduated 3rd in my high school class w/honors and 28 hrs of credit hours towards college.

i thought my comment, while critical, was mild enough.

hmm why does one have to fabricate a fiberglass pod to have their gauges in front of them. why do you automatically assume that if somone does not have some custom setup thing, then they must have an A pillar gauge setup? I whole heartedly agree with you and having forward facing gauges. A pillar gauge pods have been proven to cause eye fatigue due to the need to constantly refocus inside of the interior, and back out onto the road. I personally use a heads up reflector type setup for my engine vitals.

trust me, the last thing i am towards your fiberglass thing is jealous.

why is an sr20 swap any justification for, in my opinion, a cheesy gauge mod? you post a picture of your engine bay as if it will make me reconsider my position on your gauge cluster.

If you are so concerned with keeping your eyes on the road "in a corner" you really should consider clocking your gauges and removing the a/f gauge. It takes much longer for your brain to actually "read" a gauge compared to a properly clocked gauge, and narrow band a/f gauges offer no useful information (woah look it got rich when i stepped on the gas pedal).

your defence of painting an s15 gauge cluster is ridiculous. you act like its some work of art. why would you paint the gauge cluster black? because the silver right next to the white screws up the deffinition of the gauges. which you seem to be so intent on keeping easily readable.

unless you converted the spedometer to read in mph, thats one other thing for your brain have to slow down and convert.

its made out of fiberglass? no way? i thought it was made out of modelling clay and plaster of paris?

Your car is the CHEESIEST piece of work I have ever seen. WTF is up with the spackled blue crap? All show and no go. Used, been had, scuffed up rims with fat for NOTHING tires that will never break loose due to an EXTREME lack of power. Seriously

And i'm sorry if I came off as a d!ck. I guess I just expect everyone to take criticism in a light-hearted way... it being the internet and all.
